So…why do you think Christians with families are more likely to fly on Sundays?
So they can get out of church?
I was wondering that…
We could ask why Christian's often travel on Sunday using any mode of transportation. I think it is because Sunday to them is a "down day" and they aren't losing income anyhow since they don't work on Sunday, so why not use that as a day of travel. That way they can be back at work on Monday. From a business standpoint, it makes sense. But I don't think they are aware of the personal values that are driving these judgments.

There is the story about the man in a poor country who promised God that if he gave his hog some piglets, he would give one to the Lord. (His hog was his sole source of income, and it wasn't gestating.
The hog got pregnant and the piglets were born. The owner was excited. One morning he went out to check on his hog and her offspring and found one of the piglets dead. He left the shed in a hurry and ran in to tell his wife the God's piglet died.

The question of course is, "Why is it that when a sacrifice needs to be made, that God needs to make instead of us."

There is a sizeable percentage of Plain Anabaptists (probably the majority) who avoid extensive travel on Sunday and rather travel on Monday.

A wee little man can’t say, I’m sorry. A big man owns his mistakes and apologizes.
A wee little man trusts himself and his own discernment. A big man is humble enough to know that he needs the counsel and input of others.

They don't usually do that for weather delays. Not for passengers in seat 3A, let alone 33A. Maybe the diversion made them uncharacteristically generous.

It was a vast improvement in efficiency from other similar incidents.
AA put me in an Uber, they did it all.

Oddly, my daughter’s credit card was charged - she got the alert before knowing the flight was delayed.

“Mom, what are you doing?! Where are you?!”

We’re getting it straightened out.
i guess the billing was connected through my Uber app. Which wasn’t used - to my knowledge.
The driver confirmed it was AA. nope.

Thankfully, i brought apple slices and cheese cubes along. Big apple. i finished the slices this morning.

Turn around’s fair play.
For all those nights we were wondering where they were, what they were doing. :P
haha. i was out running all over Chicago in the wee hours.

i like 33A. It’s noisy up front.

I guess that's how the cat got on the roof this afternoon. Somebody called the fire department to come get it down.
They put the ladder up to the roof and the cat promptly went inside the house.

Today ..

after DELUGES of rain, rain, more rain .. in my area and elsewhere .. parts of Indiana were bad.
today is sunny, under 80F, not windy .. my my. RELIEF.

generally, in August, we’re dry if not in dought conditions. -generally- not always.

Signs it’s about harvest time for cornfields. Daylight is getting shorter.

Today ..
some men came to get some badly needed yard work done for me. With the rain+heat, it was a jungle out there.

A neighbor came to tell me my septic is ok, my yard won’t have to be dug up like theirs. whew.
Their house had septic problems, they’ve got an 8’ deep hole .. the contractor thought it would involve 2 more homes.
Today, they said it’s the first house, the others are ok.

It’s a REALLY good day.

A wasp in the house. :-| i believe he’s subdued.
