What bothers me is you’re on the side that would see me and my children prohibited from attending school, working, and so forth, simply because of my religious convictions about abortion.

Doesn’t that bother you just a little bit?
No. Measles is so contagious, and such a frequent killer, that it protects others from harm. You are perfectly free to homeschool if you do not wish to comply with the standards the community has set. You can't send them to school with a loaded pistol. Even though it is unlikely they would actually fire it, it is still a danger the community has found it appropriate to protect itself against.

Freedom has limits, and reckless behavior is one of those limits.

Mr. Trump directed health officials to split the measles, mumps and rubella vaccines, which are currently given as a combined product, into three separate shots. “Together, there could be a possibility they’re quite lethal,” he said.

There is no evidence that the combination M.M.R. shot is dangerous, and many decades of evidence for its overall safety. It is associated with a small risk of seizures if a child develops a fever, but that type of seizure — which can occur after any high fever — does not cause long-term harm, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Individual shots for the three diseases are available in some countries, but would need to be tested in the United States before they could be administered. Requiring parents to bring their children in for multiple visits may deter some from getting the required shots.

Splitting the M.M.R. vaccine serves “no medical purpose and would force parents to make multiple appointments, needlessly take time off work and make child care arrangements,” said Dr. Richard Besser, the president of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and a former acting director of the C.D.C.

I’m skeptical this actually will happen but possibly great news!
Wife says there are no approved single vaccines in the US. I suspect she is right. If new ones need to be tested, manufacturing lines need to be stood up. Full trials need to be conducted. They will need to find a company willing to invest millions in drug development for a drug that may become useless after this current administration. This shows a profound misunderstanding of how the actual NDA (New Drug Application) process works.

No sane company will invest in this.
An estimate just got published in the New York Times. 5-10 years from when the decision is made to actually produce. None of the cell cultures apparently still exist.

Nonsense.

We still have measles and mumps vaccines independently produced, then combined with rubella and preservatives and other stuff added.

If they can make a vaccine for a virus that is novel cutting corners, they certainly can remake it without cutting corners in 1-3 years.
Will they? I doubt it.

None of that justifies killing babies and participating in abortion.

Demanding that people homeschool who don't want to inject their children with aborted-baby parts is not reasonable.
Freedom has limits, and reckless behavior is one of those limits.
There is nothing reckless, irresponsible, or morally wrong about refusing to traffick in aborted-baby parts.

Abortion is a far, far bigger danger to the community than measles. It has killed far more babies than measles could ever hope to.

Incidentally, the law where I am disagrees with you, and enshrines the right of citizens to exercise their religion and still participate in things like private and public school. It is very sad when a state government recognises the right of religious people to avoid abortion more than you do.

Well, it is experts who are familiar with the process that are saying this:

""What’s more, separate vaccines for measles, mumps or rubella have not been available in the United States for many years. Vaccine manufacturers said it would take a minimum of five to 10 years for them to be tested and made available.

“We don’t have any way to implement what he’s suggesting,” said Dr. Kathryn Edwards, a retired vaccinologist and professor emerita at Vanderbilt University who studied individual and combination vaccines."""

The phrasing "Aborted Baby Parts" is misleading and you know it.

I think it’s too political, but I think that it’s a simple logic that 5 to 10 years is ridiculous.
I’m not an expert and I said flat out. I don’t know, but they have the equipment, they have the recipe, they even make the recipe. They just simply then combine it to make a different vaccine.
So facts
1: they have the vaccine strain
2: they have the industrial knowledge
3: they have the industrial process
4: they certainly are capable of making it unapproved

With those facts my conclusion is that it’s a legal issue which could be resolved in under three years if they want it.
An expert saying it can’t be done is just being nonsensical.

Either way, though, as I stated, I don’t expect it to happen, and unless it does, neither of us will be able to validate our argument so I will agree to disagree.
