There is a formulation of ivermectin for humans with parasites. A doctors can write a prescription for it. But taking veterinary formulations for off label indications is simply risky and irresponsible behavior, full stop. As I said, I had a friend who wound up in “A&E” while backpacking. Microwaving your sleeping bag works far better. Do not try if it has a zipper.
Take what you will, but if you took it as a fact discussion, you missed my point entirely.

The risk of taking ivermectin are extremely low. You don’t bolster your position at all by this kind of fearmongering.

There’s several supplements we take for different reasons with notable results.

When my husband started taking Thymex (by Standard Process) it affects your Thymus gland -
He no longer dealt with seasonal allergies leading to sinusitis which he got at least 3x a year for decades. The doctor can affirm this as he put my husband on an antibiotic every time & since taking the supplement Thymex he is kept from that sick cycle.

For blood pressure, my husband has had high Bzp since early 40s (he had type 1 diabetes) this killed his kidneys & caused minor stroke at 44. BP meds administered brought it down below danger level. However at a Chiropractor this woman one of therapists) said HTN 180 Px worked well for her mothers BP. So we gave it a try. We noticed his BP was coming down. He then felt he could rely on the HTN 180 so was solely on that. When he went for his annual visit to his transplant coordinator doctor- she was amazed his BP was perfect! So I said “he takes a supplement for it” which she had no comment.

Then came the “hearing issue “. Not only was he hearing poorly, hearing wrong words, & struggling with sentences, I was concerned & talked about it with his doctor who suggested a brain scan. Right after that- I saw 3 bottles of a supplement called “HearAll” on a counter in health product store in Holmes County. Since we have seen good results from so many supplements, I thought why not try. So I bought the 3 bottles (this guy it almost seemed God had put him right in front of me since they were up by the register by themselves). The transformation was seemingly a miracle. Not only did his hearing come back, but we were able to have normal conversations again without him, struggling to make his sentences. I brought the “HearAll” to his doctor & showed him & said “we have our lives back because of this!”. He laughed & said “It’s a vitamin”. We really no longer respect his opinions on supplements at all, but he could see for himself whether he admits it or not that my husband barely has to go into the doctor. He’s even commented to him. Where have you been? My husband says I’m not never sick now for someone with a suppressed immune system because of a double transplant. My doctor seems very impressed. unfortunately, they have quit making here all. I called the company to find out why and they said they may have trouble getting a couple of the ingredients. It’s a proprietary blend that is unusual. He’s been off of it now for over a year and his hearing is bad again, but his confusion doesn’t seem to be there

Should I share more?

My doctors routinely record+track my supplements, even my cardiologist (from India) nodded in agreement that tumeric helps with inflammation. Sometimes they recommend supplements. They advise when something may cause problems.

When i had the Jones fracture, the ortho was adamant he wanted me to take D3, which i’d been taking for years.
Btw, i surprised him with 100% healing! Not his prognosis. Sometmes it’s good to be wrong.

This is routine, from BEFORE the pandemic.

I don’t feel at odds with my doctors.
i’m in a irritatingly blue-dominate state, my local doctors+hospitals are Chicago satellites, i’m pretty sure.

They are specially conscientious if i’m about to have any type of anesthesia, i believe this is routine.
They advise stopping nearly “everything” (prescription+OTC) before such procedures. i follow instructions.

i don’t have any sense i’m trying to “go around” or out-smart my doctors, or vice versa.
i presume we have the same goals: life and quality of life. with sensible factorng for life stages.

As long as you have the "human" concentration, with a "human" product insert telling you EXACTLY how much to take and how often. Also a "human" doctor to screen for possible contraindications. I have seen it on the hospital formulary before, for treatment of parasites. I could probably calculate you something approximating a correct dose. Most people with an average education could not.

Mr. Trump directed health officials to split the measles, mumps and rubella vaccines, which are currently given as a combined product, into three separate shots. “Together, there could be a possibility they’re quite lethal,” he said.

There is no evidence that the combination M.M.R. shot is dangerous, and many decades of evidence for its overall safety. It is associated with a small risk of seizures if a child develops a fever, but that type of seizure — which can occur after any high fever — does not cause long-term harm, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Individual shots for the three diseases are available in some countries, but would need to be tested in the United States before they could be administered. Requiring parents to bring their children in for multiple visits may deter some from getting the required shots.

Splitting the M.M.R. vaccine serves “no medical purpose and would force parents to make multiple appointments, needlessly take time off work and make child care arrangements,” said Dr. Richard Besser, the president of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and a former acting director of the C.D.C.

I’m skeptical this actually will happen but possibly great news!

Please describe exactly how the veterinary formulations will cause any problems.

Be specific.

I’m not trying to go around or out-smart my doctor but learn enough from “other doctors” to try supplements. We do have the same goals (our doctor of 21 years) and we live & appreciate him but he’s close minded about supplements other than the normal multi, D3, C.
I u detained that text book knowledge however I also appreciate the knowledge of Holistic & Naturopath doctors, they are just not covered by insurance. Chiropractic is these days to a point and that’s where we learned more about EFFECTIVE supplements. They’ve worked better than prescriptions. My mom’s blood pressure medication she was on 20 years is one of 3 linked to cancer- her stomach cancer was one that her BP was said to be a risk for.
All of Moms side of the family dies of heart attacks. The oldest lived to 82. None would listen to her about supplements but she is 89, been faithfully taking CoQ20 & fish oil for @ 20 years and gets excellent reports an out her heart, I mean- she’s outlived genetic expectations. She was 2.5 lbs when born, had asthma, she learns natural ways to address health issues. It’s not trying to out smart doctors to realize some are only into prescription meds which themselves can cause harm.

i didn’t intend to suggest this, at all. sorry.
i was attempting to describe my stand alone experience. i’m sure i am greatly influenced by my mother, who defied doctors’ expectations a number of times, remarkably surviving ICU a few times with heart attacks! scaring everyone so badly. :?

i’ve taken your suggestions a number of times, you+haithabu had worthwhile discussions during the pandemic. he must be in health care? i don’t know in what way.

he shared some pretty specific details about how to calculate doses of IVM. do you remember?
i was looking for it today when i found this interesting page:

P.537 / Coronavirus Outbreak

haithabu wrote: ↑Tue Sep 21, 2021 11:15 am My son visited a doctor about his knee the other day and had a revealing conversation. He asked "I know some people who definitely won't vaccinate so they are taking horse Ivermectin. I'm afraid that it is unsafe. Is there anything preventing you from prescribing them human Ivermectin since that can do no harm and just might help?"

He was testing the rumour that Alberta doctors are not allowed to prescribe Ivermectin for anything other than scabies.

The doc looked uncomfortable and replied "There may be some other doctors who might but I won't because it doesn't work."

"Well, in that case is there anything you would recommend that they take for prophylaxis or early treatment to mitigate their risk?"

The doctor did not answer.

This is the story of the pandemic. Complete abdication of the medical field in terms of prevention and early treatment. How hard is it to say "Tell them to at least take Vitamin C and D?"
i had similar experience with pharmcies in Illinois, i was told prescriptions for IVM were not allowed.

i appreciate J.M.’s description of authentic science, he’s not wrong. And authentic science is important.
However, there is also junk science AND (i think) lay people will always have their own experiences+observations, home remedies, etc., which will have varying degrees of results.

i believe every culture has its form of medicine men.
i think it’s completely normal, when things are bad, the impulse is to “do something”.

i don’t see it as a hard either/or.

hard science requires time and is often expensive. it is valuable.
for better and worse, lay people will experiment.

and, of course, there will be scammers+profiteers mixed in, not for good measure. :-|
