I had Covid twice. The doctor prescribed Paxlovid the first time, and it didn't help a thing. It just made my mouth taste like I imagined the organic waste matter emitted from the cows on the farm I grew up on, tasted like. The second time, I just toughed it out without going to any doctor. So, no I didn't follow any social media suggestions.Judas Maccabeus wrote: ↑Thu Aug 06, 2026 11:47 am
I can’t responsibly let this be said without challenging this. Ivermectin, in particular, is not effective in treating COVID, full stop. Well run double blind studies show little or no effect.

As a matter of fact that the Senate hearing last week with Fauci, they had a huge stack of reports of people that benefited from ivermectin during the Covid pandemicJudas Maccabeus wrote: ↑Thu Aug 06, 2026 11:47 amI can’t responsibly let this be said without challenging this. All it takes is a mad scientist like Fauci and a complicit government. People in general no longer trust the scientists like Fauci and complicit government leaders. During Covid the government shut down doctors and meds that actually reduced Covid, such as Ivermectin, Hydroxychloroquine, and Monoclonal antibodies. Doctors were using Monoclonal antibodies with covid patients and having great results, until the Biden administration started controlling them. The problem was that these medications weren’t expensive and didn’t garner great profits.JohnH wrote: ↑Wed Aug 05, 2026 10:40 pm
Obviously there isn't a consensus for the origins of it for sure, but a preponderance of evidence is that COVID-19 has signs of being man-made, although it may have been a result of experiments with originally zoonotic viruses.
Did this oversight not exist in 2019 and prior? As I recall, there were a great deal of "experts", bureaucracies, grants, and funding for these sort of things. We still got COVID-19 despite all of that. I don't trust the people who created a problem to be able to make it not happen the next time.
Fixing blame is actually pretty important. Part of the problem was the whole scheme of "trust science" and "trust the experts", when in reality such people were simply focused on renewing their grant funding, funding expensive programs, and enhancing their own careers.
Moreover, I don't see why this has to be something the U.S. government does at all. The world got along just fine for thousands of years without people like Dr. Fauci running their mad-scientist labs where they experimented with infesting beagles with flies and grafting aborted-baby scalps to rats.

i followed forum discussions, then added some supplements, PLUS, continued our long habit of hand-washing, my family+i followed doctors’ orders wrt vaccines, masking, distancing. the local shops employed all manner of cleaning, face shields, distancng requirements. school teachers cleaned desks, etc., as part of their new responsbilities.
employers+schools had requirements wrt vaccines.
i read haithabu’s posts on it. and Valerie’s, they were both pretty specific about supplements.
i had/have IVM on hand, i presume it’s past the exp date now.
i started walking a lot with hopes my lungs would be strengthened, in the event.
i haven’t had it. my family has had at least one bout each.
P.537 / Coronavirus Outbreak (a good example of forum discussion)
https://forum.mennonet.com/viewtopic.ph ... start=5360
i’ve continued with the supplements, hand-washing, i can’t walk the distances i did before, i’ve added stair climbing when possible.
i feel like all this has served me well so far, i’ll continue.
if i’m coughing-sneezing, i’ll still wear a mask as courtesy to others. probably occasional allergies, masks serve as kind of a warnng.
i don’t think they hurt anything-much. esp for brief errands.

i should add, last winter, Dec-Feb, i was with my family, in January, they all became very ill over a few weeks, i was glad i was there, i helped with everything possible, i was busy!i haven’t had it. my family has had at least one bout each.
Even their horse was very ill, the vet warned he might not recover. Lots of driving involved. Thankfully, i’m able.
i didn’t get sick.
i had a few days of mild coughing, i think. Nothing to compare with the others.
i kept thinking, if i’d been as sick as they, i might not have recovered.
i take the supplements.
they’re a nuisance, plus the expense.
some days i’m tempted to stop.
we keep zinc lozenges on hand for mild sore throats-coughs. they seem effective in preventing worsenng symptoms.

The U.S. government funding virus research in China is particularly insane. Especially to get around restrictions on such research in America.Judas Maccabeus wrote: ↑Thu Aug 06, 2026 11:50 amLimit pathological virus research as smallpox has been limited. Do you have a good solution for that problem?

I hope he didn't die from Covid. He stopped participating on the forum when members of his community or family were getting hospitalized. The coincidental timing of his disappearance doesn't look good.

You mean claim to have benefited. Testimonials do not represent proof. Controlled double blind studies do.Valerie wrote: ↑Thu Aug 06, 2026 1:17 pmAs a matter of fact that the Senate hearing last week with Fauci, they had a huge stack of reports of people that benefited from ivermectin during the Covid pandemicJudas Maccabeus wrote: ↑Thu Aug 06, 2026 11:47 amI can’t responsibly let this be said without challenging this. Without a control group to compare it to, a testimonial is worthless as proof.
