There is a saying in computers that you should treat your servers like cattle, not pets. That is... don't give them names, just numbers, for example.

"He" and "she" are personal pronouns. A bull is not a person. When people use personal pronouns for animals, that's the anthropomorphic fallacy. Next you get people considering pets as family members.

Wife: Jesus did it. Actually, I have no idea how gender worked in Aramaic/ancient Hebrew, other than the assumption that all the nouns were automatically gendered masculine or feminine.
