Unless they think you are a Mossad agent, Jordan will let you in. I am known to be a missionary, and was almost deported for "proselytizing," and they still let me in.JohnH wrote: ↑Tue Jun 23, 2026 3:01 pmDefinitely. I have a tiny bit of regret I can’t do this since my past work / travel history makes this basically not an option.Judas Maccabeus wrote: ↑Tue Jun 23, 2026 12:46 pmPetra is the A ticket, but don't miss Jerash, Madaba and Mt. I've only seen it from across the Dead Sea.
If I do get to Jordan, Petra is the spot that's at the top of my list.
Nazareth is probably my favourite city in the world (other than my own of course) and has some of my most precious memories.

There is absolutely no circumstance in which I will get caught in Jordan or other places given my history.Judas Maccabeus wrote: ↑Tue Jun 23, 2026 11:04 pm Unless they think you are a Mossad agent, Jordan will let you in. Let's just say my exit sticker started with a 1 the last few times.

The flight was Malév to Budapest, which tells you how long ago it was. I should go back when the temperature stabilizes.
That trip also involved a fuel dump ticket. Another blast from the past.

Re: Mount Nebo
Yeah, with high fuel prices these days it’s a lot harder to just dump it on the ground.
(I never actually did a true FD on purpose. When they were easy I was only travelling domestically or to C6, which seemed to be a place that really discouraged fuel dumping (they’re very much into net zero CO2 emissions there).

I have been in an out of Jordan more times than I can count. My daughter taught school there. I have never been assigned any sort of number, are you all sure you are not talking about an Israeli number?
I do not recall ever being questioned by Jordanian authorities, other than stuff like “what is the purpose of your visit “?

I’m referring to the sticker you get at Israeli exit control.Judas Maccabeus wrote: ↑Wed Jun 24, 2026 7:01 am I have been in an out of Jordan more times than I can count. I wouldn’t risk going to Jordan and probably wouldn’t even go to Bethlehem.

Wife: fascinating. I didn’t even know that was a thing. I wonder what they base those things on. maybe they saw all the random mennonet investigations you’ve done successfully and figured you must be Massad.JohnH wrote: ↑Tue Jun 23, 2026 11:15 pmThere is absolutely no circumstance in which I will get caught in Jordan or other places given my history.Judas Maccabeus wrote: ↑Tue Jun 23, 2026 11:04 pm Unless they think you are a Mossad agent, Jordan will let you in. They definitely know I am not working for the Mossad, which is not an option for the goyim anyway.

Wife: Yeah, I thought about that after the fact. I still think that it’s quite a feat to get a one or a two on your exit pass. i’ve wondered how some of those countries would feel about our military backgrounds (not Israel, just some of the Middle Eastern countries).

The time I met you in person, if I remember correctly, you were or had been working for an Israeli based tech company and I believe I asked you whether you were Mossad.
