i appreciate it, i often need to coordinate plans with family.

Also, when you pay for the flight, AA allows 24 hours to cancel with refund, no questions asked.

i don’t know policies of other airlines.
24-hour cancellation or hold is a US DOT requirement, as long as it's at least 7 days before the flight.
Thanks. i’m not surprised, but never checked into it. i think i’ve used the refund option once.

i really like the hold/reserve option, i’ve used it often.
in the past, AA would allow a free 24 hour reserve, plus an option to reserve for 2-7 days (for a small fee, like $1-5) .. ??
i haven’t noticed the extended option recently, i have no idea if it will return. 24 hours reserve helps.

It's half off if you have EBT/SNAP, and "free" if you have an American Express Platinum Card.

Wife: Yah, although we don’t have credit cards and aren’t wanting to get on snap (Probably don’t always qualify anyway). I think Wic can qualify as well. There’s a special for students too.

We used to have Amazon student back the day. I was looking and they apparently have a discount for Young adults. Way to make us feel old but not old enough for a senior discount

Yesterday, not today. Decided to take the family out to an Asian restaurant for dinner.
Went to first choice, hand written sign said “Due to staffing shortage, we are closed on Tuesdays beginning today.”
Went to second choice, handwritten sign said “Due to sudden unexpected staffing shortage, we will be closed for three days while training new staff.”
Went to third choice, their hand written sign said, “Hiring cooks and waiters”.

Was an odd experience.

A friend of mine's daughter (16 I think) was able to get a job washing dishes at an area restaurant. They are currently financially struggling so this is a big deal for her to be able to earn some money to buy things for herself / save it up. It is also close enough she can ride a bike or else it's not a long trip to drop her off in the car.

So this kind of labour pressure is very very helpful for families in need.

Wife: that’s nuts. Did you ever find an Asian food restaurant available? Worst case scenario there’s panda.

We ate at the third. Had a wonderful waitress. She was adopted and raised in a Christian family of 8 children, of which 5 were adopted. She understood how to wait on a large family.

Was able to avoid dropping down to Panda Express.
