Kind of an interesting survey of news consumption.

I hadn’t heard of it.

Bootstrap wrote: ↑Wed Jun 17, 2026 10:58 pm The New York Times reported on this. At the time, at least, they reported it as "unconfirmed", and were waiting on more information. They cited the White House as the source of this information.

I've been waiting to hear what comes of this, but that can take a while.
No need to wait; plenty of journalists have been publishing their own stories about this that aren't just based on the White House (although it's interesting you no longer consider government authorities a credible source).
With stories like this, there is almost always reason to wait. Facts develop over time. New things come out, some of them surprising. Some of the claims made by government sources turn out to be false.

Reality doesn't fit the media cycle.

1. Are we discussing the topic? Good.
2. Are we going around and around in a fight? Let's stop doing that.
3. Is there some serious wrongdoing or relational injury? Let's address that, probably not in public and certainly not for show.

i think so.
it would be interesting to see what different people look at, what is presented. (and response to what is presented.)

responses here vary from, “it’s reported everywhere” to “not aware of it”.
my feed must be quite moderate. i saw it, not a dominant report. wasn’t sure if it would fade away or more would follow.

i appreciate formal White House or other official gov statements to use as a baseline in the world of chatter+bias/noise.
agree or disagree, it’s not idle chatter. (example: the link in my P.1 over achiever post)

i think the White House website was initiated under obama, i believe an overall good thing.

i’m perfectly comfortable with an older, wiser, more docile Trump.

Interesting approach. So, would you say the government is no longer credible when the FBI said that 'right wing terrorism' is the biggest domestic terror threat?

Oh no, I believe everything the government says, always, I am completely gullible and unable to do any critical thinking whatsoever.

So you always believe whatever the government tells you, always? Of course you don't, but should I twist and provoke like you do, misrepresenting you over and over?

I think stories develop over time. I think we have courts for a reason. It's rare for any story to stay the same from initial reporting to full maturity. That's basic media savvy. I don't know why you find that offensive.

It’s been reported on for the 4th day now-
My reason for starting this is getting sidetracked into an argument.

My question was to find out who is actually getting this story in their particular news source & my concern is why doesn’t
Everyone know about it. This was no small plot.

Very sad a mother had to turn her own son in but thank the good Lord she did, otherwise her son who is in jail now along with four more so far and more than at least 20 more involved in the terror plot they would be facing mass murder charges, instead of attempt.

Thankfully the don fave up some names.

I don't need to know everything immediately. Three or four days might be ideal. I maintained a paper subscription to US News and World Report for more than a decade because I liked the format of reading news once per week.
