Interesting revisionist history you have there
I think he might be right. I could easily believe that the Protestants were more focused on executing Anabaptists than on executing Catholics.
Also I would guess there were more Anabaptists living under Protestant rule than under Catholic rule.

The next question is which edition of the Froschauer have they reprinted?
1536 using a later reprint. I think I have one on my shelf, I got it from the McMillan colony along with the part 2 of the Hutterite long chronicle, which is somewhat difficult to find.

If so, was that because there were more Anabaptists dying under Catholic rule?

Wife: Wow. We would be pretty jealous about the part two. We borrowed part one, but we could not find part two. i’m assuming it’s in English and not Hutterian?

The good news is that it won't be written in Hutterisch, since it's not really a written language (although you can find written examples on Facebook). The bad news is that it might be in German instead of English.

I am traveling now, but remind me in a week and I can give you a phone number. No online service. It is in English.

I do not think there is any glory for anyone, nor consolation, on the count of Anabaptists e ecuted bi either Catholics or Protestants.

My main point, aside from it is a fact that most historians believe Protestants executed more, that history often leaves us an “image” or characterization that is not necessarily true.

I doubt thousands of Greeks fought at Troy just because a single woman ran off with one prince.
Folks talk about how Columbus priced the world was not flat. Most educated men and most sailors knew the world was round. Climb into any crows nest and it is obvious. The real issue was Columbus and many leanrned men misjudged the circumference of the planet.

Things often are not quite

what we think they are.

Perhaps you can tell us what they "really are". Most historians would agree that Catholics executed lots of Anabaptists.

It seems quite odd to be having a contest where one argues "well, my side didn't execute QUITE as many"

As usual JohnH you seem to have some problem when presented with anything that does not line up with your perfect view

I simply stand by my claim, that historically it is accepted the Prods killed more

I made it clear I saw no value in coming in second

It might depend on how you count the Lutherans. If you use the trichotomy Lutheran, Reformed, Catholic it is possably different than if you use the division catholic, Protestant.

That being said, Lutherans came in a distant third.
