To nm bc ( i think ) MaxPC argued that "plain catholics" exist. I interpreted it as the "plain" status/lifestlye is so attractive an ex-mennonite tried to shoehorn it into catholicism,.
That’s an interesting theory; my question is how Free Will Baptistism intersects with this.

At this point, nobody is promoting the claim that Plain Catholics exist. I suggest we let this thread die.

1. Are we discussing the topic? Good.
2. Are we going around and around in a fight? Let's stop doing that.
3. Is there some serious wrongdoing or relational injury? Let's address that, probably not in public and certainly not for show.

I second the motion.

Max is gone, may he rest in Peace along with the Plain Catholic idea.

I certainly believe he's watching over us.

Can you expound on your theory?

It would be interesting to know what happened, to my understanding, no one ever knew.
It’s hard to believe he would just withdraw (which many have) - but he was prolific on forum. It wasn’t his pattern to disappear.

One would guess there’s an obituary somewhere. With interesting content.
He shared he was born in Scotland, had higher education, was “something” in the Catholic Church. Had a good sized family.
He never seemed sure about his age.

i don’t expect to know.

i’m perfectly comfortable with an older, wiser, more docile Trump.

There may be some who know more than they let on.

It would indeed be hard to believe; some of us, hence, don't believe it.

So far, no obituary has surfaced.

Scotland may have been traded in for a mountainous area a little closer to us here in America, and the higher education might have been traded in for an appellation of "us simple folks". No word yet on changes to family size or age.

I think you have a theory that JohnL and MaxPC are the same person. I doubt it.

Regardless, JohnL is with us on the forum now, Max is not. I think we should interact with people who are here and active on the forum.

Well, just come right and say it, then. I preferred to keep things somewhat ambiguous. Call it a policy of "deliberate ambiguity."

Interesting. When I re-signed up with a different account name thanks to the accidental purge, certain people made it their mission on MennoNet to try to associate my new account with my real name.

It seems reasonable to at least associate screen name #2 with screen name #1.
