I'm here with my bowl of popcorn and cup of grape juice to read and learn! Essentially, my online budget as it were!

I tend to mix apple and grape. ;)

Hello! Mr names is Taylor, I’m a happily married woman to a wonderful husband living on a small homestead in Idaho. God found me about 6 years ago, and my husband 2 years ago. We currently attend a non denominational church but are exploring our options and have found that we love interacting with the few mennonites we have in our small community here. We’re both looking forward to learning about the Mennonite faith!

It seems it has been some time since this thread has been used, so allow me to introduce myself here in 2026.

I am a believer in Christ, graduate of LRBS (Spurgeon’s Church, Metropolitan Tabernacle, in London) and the head of a Christian household.

My family heritage is Walser (Swiss) longer than it was German and hails from the Swiss Alps with the first ancestor carving his name in the foot of the Matterhorn in the largest rock on the southern face in 1310. While my family’s surname would be very obscure today, at one point it comprised 1 in 10 of every census respondent in Walser settlements. The very first descendent of my particular lineage crossed the pond from Le Havre in the 1850s, settled in Ohio and died in Iowa.

Today, my family and I are Particular Baptists that otherwise have a great deal in common with Anabaptists, so much so that we’re often mistaken by worldlings as Anabaptists (partly because the ladies headcover), and have come to consider ourselves to be Reformed Anabaptists moreso than Particular Baptists. I had not known such a term existed until I came across a Mennonite by the name of Mr. John Neufeld and read his article:

https://directionjournal.org/42/2/ploug ... being.html

I’ve come not to spread any particular doctrinal views, to be clear, and I can presently affirm all but one Article in Dordrecht.

Rather, I’ve come to learn more about Anabaptists as a Seeker and try to find a good Anabaptist community (preferably in the Southeast USA) to visit with that aligns with our family’s views as much as can be expected.

We are currently close to Greenville, South Carolina but may be moving back to North Georgia this Summer.

Hope to interact a bit with you all on the forum here in the days ahead.

Busy isn't the word for it and being well is able to debated. The fact i'm this side of the ground and for the most part still in one piece other than what surgeries have removed i'm not doing as bad as i could be. I would give the short go of it but honestly we know me, it would turn into the long go. My guitar teacher says i just need to write a book about my life, i'm only gonna be 34 in September i write one now i would have to add multiple volumes. I'm not really even sure where to begin but probably should do it in another thread. Don't want to clutter this one up. It is nice that people remember me. Now to look around the site and figure out the best place to post an update on where i have been for roughly 10 years.

I must have joined right after you moved on... I think I started reading here around 2014 and was signed up some time in 2015.
