US Attacks Iran 2026

Things that are not part of politics happening presently and how we approach or address it as Anabaptists.

But the diplomatic effort apparently isn't dead.

I think that means it is quite possibly going somewhere.

When both Iran and Trump say the same thing, I guess it's true?

The Strait of Hormuz is open for business as part of the truce between Lebanon and Israel, although the US blockade of Iranian ports is still in effect. US and Iran supposedly close to a deal. Oil prices, which were falling already, are down 11% on the news. Stock indexes stage a record turnaround.

At this point, who knows? Even when both sides say the same thing, they often mean something different. The article you posted leads with the statement that shippers are still looking for clarity and security guarantees. I’d do the same if I was them.

Sure. One commentator on Yahoo Finance said that the financial rallies are based on hope. I guess that's probably true, but isn't that always the case?

Perhaps the shippers should discuss with the country whose flag they fly about any 'security guarantees'.

Yeah, I think that explains a lot about how the stock market has been acting through all of this. Hopes and vibes.

I'm trying to figure out if this is the "denial" phase or the "bargaining" phase. Trump obviously won with his agenda in Iran, and Iran lost, but it's going to take a while for some people to accept because they want him to lose so badly.

Iran publicly 'opening' the Strait of Hormuz seems to be them giving up what little leverage they have. I can't see how this is a win for them, except in the sense that it is better for them to give up now and accede to the demands of the US.
