The idea Trump thinks he is a god crosses into the domain of paranoid delusions.

I did not interpret the artwork as being a type of Christ, but then again, I don't really like religious art very much these days. Religious art hasn't been part of our Anabaptist tradition, either, which is why I am a little surprised to find alleged Anabaptists getting all worked about claiming something that isn't a depiction of Christ actually is a depiction of Christ.

I also don't think there is any chance, at all, that Trump sees himself as a deity, so it is a pretty odd accusation. I am really starting to worry about the influences on people who actually might think this is a real thing. Trump doesn't think he is a god. First we had to put up with hearing that Trump was a Russian spy; next, that he was some kind of brutal, oppressive dictator who was going to end American democracy; now we're supposed to believe he's going to be some kind of Pharoah emporer-god-king?
The later camp I referred to, was the second half of my post. Namely, that because he is distanced from Christianity, that Jesus was not his first interpretation. And when he says in the video clip that it wasn't Jesus, because when he saw it he thought it depicted a doctor, and having to do with the Red Cross, Trump may be telling the truth.

Yes. Trump has never claimed to be a Christian, other than in an abstract sense of being baptised Presbyterian as a baby, which would be on the extreme level of nominal.

By the way, this might seem unrelated, but I really miss Robert, because he actually knew how to put images into a post versus just showing the URL, and always had the funniest things on I think it’s funny. I just started thinking about that because of how technologically inapt I am
1) “I do not know” .. would be the most useful (honest) words social media could adopt, even to replace THE DAILY SCREAM.

2) yes, and .. Robert’s uniquely informed and insightful view of earthly life, including politics.
i’m so glad he once posted about himself - to paraphrase - given time, his thoughts and views frequently turned out to be correct,
regardless of how rejected in the moment. i agree. i’ve never been sure how he did that!

.. and his even handed approach to moderating adults (actng like children) on forum, which was not his favorite thing.
he occasionally scolded. he had a great team, still present. this forum has solid moderators. every one. amazing, really.

i’m perfectly comfortable with an older, wiser, more docile Trump.

Good words you guys.
T is an unusual man. He sees in unusual ways. “We” don’t know what to do with him. Without a doubt, God knows.

i sure didn’t see Jesus in the OP pic, i guess AI pic. THE DAILY SCREAM decided, what is screamed goes viral.

Hopefully, “we” will progress from that regrettable bad habit. “5 little monkeys jumping on the bed” ..

(Another one of the images has him in a Benny Hinn-style white suit handing out Bibles.)

There is no reason to think this picture is portraying him as some kind of deity. It does portray him as some kind of Pentecostal preacher, but wearing archaic clothing, but the picture of him as King Arthur likewise portrays him in mediaeval attire.

Trump often reposts images or videos created by his fans, which these days is mostly AI slop.

If you think this portrays Trump as a deity, this mostly says something about you and where Trump is living in your head, rent-free. My advice is to find something else to think about.
If a Pentecostal preacher posted a picture depicting themselves like this, how do you think people would respond? I suspect people would say that he looked like a cult leader.

I was Pentecostal for several decades, to think like one, they would (at least what I’m familiar with) see it as we are representative of Christ and of course Pentecosts believe in laying hands on the sick, praying over them as Christ and the Apostles did. I think it’s symbolic of the way Pentecosts believe. Although they do think Amish are cultish, not in the same way.

They do the thing depicted all the time. And no, they aren't "cult leaders", even if I do disagree with some of their doctrine and practice.

Kind of interesting, we just watched a panel of 5 black men & women who really explain Trump well, understand him, support him, and I think lefties could learn a lot from them- they also explained the Iranian situation well- I enjoyed their discussion- lots of black men & women support & say good things about him.

When my husband was in a coma from stroke & sepsis 21 years ago, the intensive care nurse Dean was not very positive about him coming out of it- so as was the way we believe, I was praying over him like pictured, laying hands on him and praying out loud. Dean was working on the patient on the other side of the curtain. While I was praying, Neil started coming out of his coma (I’m sure Dean could hear me praying) and I shouted over to Dean “Dean, he’s coming out of it!” So Dean came over & it was the beginning of Neil’s healing. As Pentecosts it was what we were taught to do from Scripture. It didn’t seem “weird” to do what Jesus taught.
