Israel Is Rationing Its Best Interceptors—and Iran’s Missiles Are Getting Through
With supplies under pressure as the war drags on, the country is turning to upgraded versions of less capable munitions to fill the gap
Is this factual?

I can’t read the article, but it is very factual that Iranian missiles are penetrating US and Israeli defense.

This might help you understand some of the reasoning behind why intercepting is hard.

If it is, we may have a situation where someone (maybe blinded by arrogance, etc) bit off more than they can chew...

I don't know if the US and Israel are running out of the most powerful missile defenses or not but statistically it will happen eventually. It's much easier to manufacturer cheap "stupid" offensive weapons than the super expensive "smart" defensive ones. It looks so me as if the US has indeed bit off more than it can chew. Finishing long sustained conflict has never been a strong point.

Kind of proves two things if you are the Commander in Chief:
Democrats did indeed cause our military to decline and Iran was a big threat as he knew for years but apparently worse than he knew.
Listening to various leaders in other countries they still endorse Trumps actions.

Israel Is Rationing Its Best Interceptors—and Iran’s Missiles Are Getting Through
With supplies under pressure as the war drags on, the country is turning to upgraded versions of less capable munitions to fill the gap

Quick Summary
Israel has begun rationing high-end missile interceptors to preserve stocks amid daily Iranian barrages.

JERUSALEM—Israel has begun rationing its use of high-end missile interceptors, hoping to preserve stocks of its most capable defensive weapons in the face of daily Iranian barrages that haven’t let up through four weeks of war.

A pair of Iranian ballistic missiles recently scored direct hits on the towns of Dimona and Arad after Israel tried and failed to intercept them with modified versions of less advanced munitions.
Israel faced another alarming bombardment Thursday, with residents reporting sirens going off constantly and several missile hits across the country.

Israel has successfully made heavy use of its top of the line Arrow interceptors to shoot down ballistic missiles so far in the war and in the conflict with Iran last June. It recently has been using upgraded versions of its David’s Sling system, which was designed to shoot down rockets and shorter-range ballistic missiles, to intercept bigger and longer-range varieties—with mixed results.

The decision to use less-capable munitions reflects the pressure militaries across the region are under as they burn through expensive, difficult-to-manufacture weapons to fend off attacks from Iran’s mass-produced missiles and drones.

Not sure how that person would know, but it may not be all the story. They are starting to deploy laser defenses and it may be that there is not as much need to replenish the old defense when the new defense is coming online.

Perhaps this deserves its own post, but the Israeli government denied the Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem entry yesterday, Palm Sunday, to celebrate Palm Sunday Mass. This Mass had never been canceled before, not during any of the World Wars, nor during the Six-Day War in which Jerusalem was a theater of operations, nor during the hundreds of years of Ottoman rule, nor in any of the Arab caliphates.

This Mass was only canceled once before, in 1349, due to the Black Death, which wiped out a quarter of the world's population.

Note that the argument used by the Netanyahu government is completely unfounded, since Cardinal Pizaballa was going to celebrate Mass alone; it was not a Mass with a congregation.

Regardless of any valid criticisms we may have of the Catholic Church, this attack on the holiest site in Christianity, where our Lord Jesus Christ died and rose again, is completely unjustified.

It is so indefensible that even Ambassador Huckabee, a Zionist who supports Israel's territorial expansion to the Euphrates River, condemned this decision.

This might help you understand some of the reasoning behind why intercepting is hard.
This is one of the systems that senior military officials have warned could be significantly strained in a conflict with Iran. Reporting around discussions involving Gen. Dan Caine (Chairman of the Joint Chiefs) has indicated concerns about depleting interceptor stockpiles in a sustained war.

More broadly, scenarios like closing the Strait of Hormuz, attacks on U.S. bases in the region, and escalation through Iranian partners are standard elements in U.S. war planning for Iran. These are routinely modeled in military exercises.

None of this is particularly surprising.

The White House messaging seems to imply that these things were not brought up in briefings. That's hard to imagine.

1. Are we discussing the topic? Good.
2. Are we going around and around in a fight? Let's stop doing that.
3. Is there some serious wrongdoing or relational injury? Let's address that, probably not in public and certainly not for show.

The fact Iran has these capabilities is quite clearly a problem, though, and makes it very obvious such a regime cannot be trusted with nuclear weapons.

Lasers are not affective against any missile with heat shielding. Drones? Maybe.
