This information is incorrect. The tanker was not brought down by enemy or friendly fire, but by a mid-air collision between two US planes, according to US Central Command and various other sources, some of which posted pictures of the damaged tail of the plane that was able to land safely.
If the U.S. plans to keep engaging in displays of military might, they will need to significantly improve their competence; so far friendly fire and mistakes like this have cost more U.S. servicemen lives than the enemy has.
That fact could also reflect the vastly superior capabilities of the US.

Just seems like a bit of a bush league mistake.

That wouldn't make it any more afFordable, though.

Maybe. In any case, I certainly don't feel the need to defend the US military, they can do that themselves.

Mistakes happen. US troops die in training periodically, is it any surprise then that the same is true in a war zone?

Depends.

A Viking River Cruise is probably a lot cheaper than what we are paying for the Iran war.

1. Are we discussing the topic? Good.
2. Are we going around and around in a fight? Let's stop doing that.
3. Is there some serious wrongdoing or relational injury? Let's address that, probably not in public and certainly not for show.

Apparently, the war is costing the US almost a $1 billion a day.

Maybe DOGE could look into that. My suspicion is there is fraud and corruption to be found if they wanted to look.

Oh boy, there is, but I doubt DOGE will do anything.

Note that peace also costs in excess of $1 billion a day.
