US Attacks Iran 2026

Things that are not part of politics happening presently and how we approach or address it as Anabaptists.

The obvious answer is because this is a regime whose reaction is to lob missiles at a dozen countries.

You may not like this answer. Feel free to run for office I guess. Nick Fuentes is making a big deal out of how important it is for Democrats to win the mid terms because it’s so important not to “fight a war for Israel”. Perhaps you can campaign with him.

The further away from home a war is, the more palatable it becomes?War on your own borders is a commitment to continual future hostile relations and refugee flows. Long distance war is more like a video game, the real life consequences aren't prominent.
Because America had made it priority to protect their own, the freedom we all enjoy here, it seems it is going after those that wish to harm us here- a country that chants death to America & close to nuclear bombs, and the war on drugs (cartels) which IF that war makes it better for those w ho. Wish to flee their own country to come to America will appreciate their drug lords not affecting their own home lands -
I can't follow that.

I am very grateful for the blessings that I have been given but they are from Jesus, not America. Some day God will move in another direction and this country will collapse. True blessings are always from God, not from things, attributing the blessings of God to things is a starting point of idolatry.
I disagree, I certainly do not idolize America but I do appreciate our freedom here, my appreciation for. Heist is much more and I guess Christian’s can go live in countries that are persecuting. Christians, there are many, if we feel the appreciation of living in the country that allows us the freedom to worship looks a lot like idolatry. I find that strange.

No. I didn't say that appreciating freedom of worship looks a lot like idolatry. I said attributing the blessings that come from Jesus to other sources is a starting point of idolatry.

I think it turns into idolatry when we begin to sanctify the military. We can’t criticize the military or policy because they’re “protecting our freedom.” That goes beyond appreciation.

While I can appreciate the freedom, it’s very unwise to ignore the spiritual risks associated with patriotism, praise for leaders and attributing blessings to man.

I think when your strong in your faith and devotion to the Lord, you can make the distinctions.

But they weren't doing that before we attacked.

Here's what I don't like about the answer: it says that morality and the kind of normal moral and strategic reasoning that used to span political parties are no longer relevant, and it's all about partisan politics.

Particularly strange on a Mennonite forum when discussing a war of choice.

1. Are we discussing the topic? Good.
2. Are we going around and around in a fight? Let's stop doing that.
3. Is there some serious wrongdoing or relational injury? Let's address that, probably not in public and certainly not for show.

We can see that danger for Muslim leaders. But that doesn't mean we see it in ourselves.
