That’s why the Iranians were protesting the evil regime- who has kept them from living “in peace” for 47 years and that is why Iranians around the world are celebrating and hopeful.
The fastest growing amount of Christian’s converts is in Iran. A very dangerous place to become a Christian so hopefully 🙏 will be answered to help them.
You should look into Iran before America started tampering with them through the CIA.
There was no such thing as “Iran” before Western involvement in the area.
Iran is home to one of the oldest continuous civilizations in the world, known as “Persia” in the West until 1935 when Reza Shah Pahlavi formally asked for the name “Iran” be internationally recognized. “Iran” was an indigenous name for the region.

Western involvement in a region it doesn’t understand is a major reason why this mess exists.

We are still dealing with the consequences of the WWI Western led breakup of the Ottoman Empire that carved up the Middle East for the Western interests. We are also dealing with the consequences if the 1953 CIA sponsored coup that installed the Shah and directly led to the 1979 Revolution.

Regime change in Iraq and Afghanistan were disastrous.

But this time will be different, right?

Ernie, with respect, you need to stop trusting news sources that promote a warlike mindset and want to prolong the war in Ukraine. It is not a wholesome thing for a Christian to adopt this mindset. It is the mindset of empire - that it is just fine to fight a war forever because of "principles" or because who is "right".
Huh.

So, is anyone still wanting to claim that Trump is just doing Russia’s bidding?

Seems like they have capability to expend on Iran that they don’t have for Ukraine.
The further away from home a war is, the more palatable it becomes?War on your own borders is a commitment to continual future hostile relations and refugee flows. Long distance war is more like a video game, the real life consequences aren't prominent.
Because America had made it priority to protect their own, the freedom we all enjoy here, it seems it is going after those that wish to harm us here- a country that chants death to America & close to nuclear bombs, and the war on drugs (cartels) which IF that war makes it better for those w ho. Wish to flee their own country to come to America will appreciate their drug lords not affecting their own home lands -
I can't follow that.

I am very grateful for the blessings that I have been given but they are from Jesus, not America. Some day God will move in another direction and this country will collapse. True blessings are always from God, not from things, attributing the blessings of God to things is a starting point of idolatry.

So is anyone still wanting to claim that Trump is the “peace president” who was going to keep the US out of costly wars in the Middle East?

Do you think a nuclear armed Iran is a good idea?

I’m really open to hearing alternatives. A few weeks ago, I heard calls to “support” the protesters.

Supporting the protesters and not supporting Hegseth/trump/Israel's war on Iran can be two different things. I support the protesters, at least maybe some of their aspirations... but oppose the other thing. It's possible to be that kind of nuanced. Jesus does this all the time in the NT. His apostles did similarly in other circumstances. It's possible for american christians to do that too.

If the US could be trusted to negotiate with and not attack during negotiations, if the US could be trusted to follow treaties, if the US wasn't the only country who actually ever used nukes in weapon form, if places like NK were actually using the nukes... if it wasn't painfully obvious the US won't attack nuclear powers directly.
Sounds to me like our reputation has made us unbelievable when it comes to negotiations. Last 2 the US did with Iran, they attacked at the same time.

Last June, Trump claimed he “obliterated” Iran’s nuclear program with the strikes on Fordo:

https://www.whitehouse.gov/articles/202 ... fake-news/

Iran’s Nuclear Facilities Have Been Obliterated — and Suggestions Otherwise are Fake News

President Trump: “Monumental Damage was done to all Nuclear sites in Iran, as shown by satellite images. Obliteration is an accurate term! The white structure shown is deeply imbedded into the rock, with even its roof well below ground level, and completely shielded from flame. The biggest damage took place far below ground level. Bullseye!!!”

Israel Atomic Energy Commission: “The devastating US strike on Fordo destroyed the site’s critical infrastructure and rendered the enrichment facility inoperable. We assess that the American strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities, combined with Israeli strikes on other elements of Iran’s military nuclear program, has set back Iran’s ability to develop nuclear weapons by many years. The achievement can continue indefinitely if Iran does not get access to nuclear material.”
Years they said. Iran’s nuclear program was set back years.

It’s been eight months.

If the threat was already “obliterated,” why are we fighting again?
