One Man Engine Drop (2.38)

Hoping others will (resubmit) some of their automotive experiences here on MN. 8-)
There were many good ones!
He’s doing it again.
This time with a Toyota Tacoma he bought last summer (i thought looked brand new.)

i guess this is how he calms his nerves. :-|

2025 Re: Automotive: One Woman Windshield Cover

Post by temporal1 »

2025 ^^i believe his truck project is mostly done? .. ..

It runs in the family. My latest vehicle accomplishment: Windshield cover!
i bought one last year, it sat in its box by the front door until this season.

i finally got it out. It works great. So much work, but i did it.
i’m thinking of using it year-round, i think it will be much easier and less clumsy than the folding thing that goes inside the windshield.

It has flaps that secure in the front doors and elastic bands that fit over exterior mirrors. Magnets, top+bottom, hold it down.
It’s secure. It covers my windshield wipers!

i don’t drive everyday. When i visit family, my car can sit for weeks. i think it’ll work, keep it cooler, prevent UV rays.
i’m sure my son gets his mechanical aptitude from me.
you can see the similarity a mile away.

2026

Did i mention the clunking sound i’ve had in my van front end for .. 2-3+ years? :?
i’ve had it looked at several times. nothing. asked about tie rods, shocks, steering, brakes. nothing.

Knocking-clunking not improved. Try-try again .. back to the shop. *Brake light on. :-| Brake fluid slightly low. Easy fix.

STABILIZERS.

Replaced. What a relief.

Unfortunately, 4 ruined tires. They’re not old! Low miles. They are ruined.

i like to view YouTube videos to get a better idea of what mechanics are talking about.
This one below speaks to me about stabilizers. He covers my questions in 1 minute, including tire wear.

^^On the positive.

With new stabilizers, and, hopefully, new tires soon, i want to drive to Michigan, i’d like Easter.
With that clunking sound, i’ve had low confidence in the van, i’ve stayed close to home, and worried even for short trips.
The clunking was so bad, i was afraid the front end would drop to the pavement. :-|
