If you haven't looked up the story about Manoah, what questions, comments, or quotes do you remember from him or his wife?

A wee little man can’t say, I’m sorry. A big man owns his mistakes and apologizes.
A wee little man trusts himself and his own discernment. A big man is humble enough to know that he needs the counsel and input of others.

The main quote I remember from the story is to him: "Go and get her for me," which struck my younger self as extremely hilarious. But remembering that now, I guess I remember he said something along the lines of, "Why are you sending us after a pagan woman? Is there not a woman in Israel that is beautiful to you instead?"

Now, if you ask someone what he prayed for that would be more biblically literate question.
I'm not sure I follow your thinking.
How can someone say what Manoah prayed for if they don't even recognize the name?

I could agree that perhaps just knowing who Manoah was doesn't demonstrate as high a degree of biblical literacy as knowing the story well enough to know that he asked for the man of god to come back and tell them more.
Well I knew I had seen the name recently and if I was told he was mentioned in Judges I could have gone into it. My point though is it’s not particularly important to know the guy’s name and it’s the sort of thing a Bible trivia game loves.
So in context I’m very aware of the story and what happened but in isolation the name is meaningless to me.

It could also be like I know where my wife left her keys, she remembers how old I am.

I have a friend named Mahlon. When I first met him ... back in the 1970s ... I did not remember where it was in the Bible.

1. Are we discussing the topic? Good.
2. Are we going around and around in a fight? Let's stop doing that.
3. Is there some serious wrongdoing or relational injury? Let's address that, probably not in public and certainly not for show.

I remember that Manoah thought that the story is about telling Manoah and his wife they would have a son and he would be a Nazarite. I remember they prepared a meal for the Lord and then Manoah thought they would be dead because they had seen the Lord but his wife said if that were to be true they'd be dead already. I also remember the Lord being called Incomprehensible for His name.

"Mahlon" is a common name in plain circles. It means "sickness of death" as it was the name of Ruth's first husband who died (undoubtedly it was not his given name). It is interesting to ponder giving this name to someone.

The quote I remember from my youth is, "How shall we order the child?"

In English, this sounds like a quite interesting question. You are told that you will have a son, and then you ask, "How shall we place an order for Him?" :-)

I think there was something about food that the Angel of the Lord burned up. Or maybe He ate the food. Or maybe I'm mixing up Gideon and Manoah...
