I have zero respect for people who yielded to their lower nature and killed others...unless they repent and turn from their wicked ways, they will not be in heaven which is tragic. As I understand Scripture, Jesus says that hating another human is the same as killing them.
And it's worse when we glorify it, act like it's a proof of manhood, or even character, make action videos to celebrate how cool and sophisticated our toys of murder are.

Treat people who prefer diplomacy or will not kill as wimps ...

1. Are we discussing the topic? Good.
2. Are we going around and around in a fight? Let's stop doing that.
3. Is there some serious wrongdoing or relational injury? Let's address that, probably not in public and certainly not for show.

Treat people who prefer diplomacy ..
i’m impressed with T’s diplomacy, he’s not been 100% with peaceful resolution, but far more effective than customary.
Marco Rubio and others are strong parts of his successes. Diplomacy.

i can think of little more demoralizing than protracted war led by profiteering dullards.

Simultaneously, he enjoys and effectively uses fanfare, i’d say, for various purposes.

i’m most interested in results. Only time will tell. There seems to be reason for optimism.

i’m perfectly comfortable with an older, wiser, more docile Trump.

Libya. Iraq. Afghanistan. Egypt in the Arab Spring (2011).

We've seen this before. If you remove a dictator without a viable government to replace it, the result is not democracy. It's violent chaos. If there's a power vacuum, armed factions, extremists, and strongmen rush in to fill it.

I have no idea what the "day after" plan is. For that matter, I still don't know what the "day after" plan is for Venezuela. But that's what matters. The Pottery Barn principle is relevant: "You break it, you bought it." What are we going to leave behind in the long run?
I get the sense that with the death of Khamenei, some people are treating this conflict as basically over. It’s not. It’s just starting.

The U.S. hasn’t “bought” anything.

This operation basically amounted to finally letting Israel deal with an adversary that’s been busy calling for their destruction and funding Hamas and Hezbollah for years, in between selling arms and drones to Russia to rain down terror on Ukraine.

“We” don’t have to interfere or do much of anything, other than observe that if whoever runs Iran keeps lobbing missiles at their neighbours… eventually those people might strike back.

I think weeks is optimistic. This is s serious power vacuum in a deeply divided country.

And that's not "our" problem.

Things in both Syria and Venezuela have resolved themselves surprisingly well (you may note that I was opposed to trying to decapitate Assad; in the end he ended up just leaving on his own, and things seem to be getting better there, not worse).

Neither situation is resolved.
