US Attacks Iran 2026

Post by Szdfan »

Well…it’s started. The US and Israel attacked Iran this morning (02/28/26).

Yeah, this is pretty well predicted… Iran was in a no win scenario. The attack was just waiting on the last aircraft carrier to arrive.

1 Why do the nations rage,
and the peoples plot a vain thing?
2 The kings of the earth take a stand,
and the rulers take counsel together,
against Yahweh, and against his Anointed, saying,
3 “Let’s break their bonds apart,
and cast their cords from us.”
4 He who sits in the heavens will laugh.
The Lord will have them in derision.
5 Then he will speak to them in his anger,
and terrify them in his wrath:
6 “Yet I have set my King on my holy hill of Zion.”
7 I will tell of the decree:
Yahweh said to me, “You are my son.
Today I have become your father.
8 Ask of me, and I will give the nations for your inheritance,
the uttermost parts of the earth for your possession.
9 You shall break them with a rod of iron.
You shall dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel.”
10 Now therefore be wise, you kings.
Be instructed, you judges of the earth.
11 Serve Yahweh with fear,
and rejoice with trembling.
12 Give sincere homage to the Son, lest he be angry, and you perish on the way,
for his wrath will soon be kindled.
Blessed are all those who take refuge in him.

A more accurate statement would be "the U.S. and Israel attacked the current military leadership of Iran".

It is up to the Iranians now if they want to replace their own government. (Much like Venezuela, actually.)

Even if the target is Iran’s military leadership, do you think civilians are going to suffer? Is this level of bombing able to avoid civilian casualties? How do civilian deaths factor into framing this as an attack on leadership rather than on Iran?

AP reports that 57 civilians were killed in an air strike at a girl’s school in southern Iran.

At least 57 people were reported killed at a girls’ school in southern Iran in the Israeli-U.S. strikes, and dozens others were wounded, according to Iran’s state-run IRNA news agency. The White House and the Israeli military did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Was this girl’s school part of Iran’s military leadership?

Which of course didn’t happen in Venezuela, because while the US removed Maduro, they left in place the Maduro regime.

Always interesting to see who comes out of the woodwork with strong support for murderous dictators.

Are we really going to trust reports from IRNA? or any reports this early in the fog of war?

According to NBC, Iranian officials are saying they are willing to de-escalate.

Iran's response of deciding to lob missiles and bombs at Qatar, the UAE, Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, and Kuwait may not have been the best plan. The entire region is now enraged at Iran, and more importantly, has a casus belli to counterattack.

The big loser here is China who won't get cheap oil from Iran here - and Russia who has been reliant on drones and other manufactured goods from Iran in their war against Ukraine.

I think the “fog of war” is precisely why euphemisms suggesting large-scale bombing of a country is only an attack on its “military leadership” are questionable.

The nations rage. God laughs.

The Son reigns. Blessed are those who take refuge in him.

I think our first response should be prayer and grief for the victims, not taking sides. As followers of Christ, we need to remember which Kingdom we belong to and where our ultimate loyalty lies.

1. Are we discussing the topic? Good.
2. Are we going around and around in a fight? Let's stop doing that.
3. Is there some serious wrongdoing or relational injury? Let's address that, probably not in public and certainly not for show.
