Sounds like you’re one of the fortunate survivors. Many didn’t survive the battle of wounded knee.

Spent the day getting gas run to the back shed that is being converted into a cottage. Once I got the gas working, I hooked up a used gas heater the wife bought. It was an LP heater. I removed the regulators and reconfigured the pilot light assembly and still could not get it going. Time to buy one for natural gas. Some you can use either. This is an old one and the gas valve can not be coaxed to use natural gas. Too low of pressure.

Kind of frustrating because I used the whole day, three trips to the hardware store and multiple trips under the house and shed to get things hooked up only to still only have the electric heaters running. Will work good enough to keep things from freezing, but need a good gas heater. Wife will have to find another on Marketplace. New one is only $130. May just do that.

Got a late Christmas present from my sister-in-law who finally was able to locate a copy of Captured by Gangsters, the story of the seventeen kidnapped missionaries in Haiti.

Hopefully I'll be able to find time to read it soon, after company leaves.

Got my taxes done and efiled tonight. I think I am a little early. Said they will not start processing until Feb 17th. I guess I will be one of the first in line.

Wife: good job. We did that last year and once they started processing it was super quick. We’re slackers this year.

Text to my brothers in law tonight. Could've been a disaster this morning. My daughter was driving the 15-passenger van to school with the rest of the children on board and pulled out of our driveway and tried to stop at the intersection right in front of our house, but the van would not stop even though she was hitting the brakes as hard as she could. She almost pulled out in front of somebody because of it. And when she pulled out onto the main road, it was accelerating way too fast on her and she was so scared she turned the key off and coasted off the side of the road. I went out and brought the van back to the house and it seemed like it was acting OK, but it had a check engine light on. I just went out to look at the code tonight and it was a code for throttle position sensor. The way she described it was like she was stepping on the gas and the brake at the same time. I don't know if it was because it was -5 out this morning or what, but I think that the throttle position sensor must have malfunctioned and thought she was stepping on the gas when she wasn't. Never heard of something like that happening before. A little scary especially when a teen is driving.

I'm really glad your daughter and the children are safe. That does sound bad!
