Where the treetops are palm leaves

That somewhere there is Christmas that has snow

I’m dreaming of a warm Christmas
With every Christmas card I write:
May your days be merry & bright
And May all your Christmas’ have white(caps) 🎶🎶🎶

I’m a true Buckeye. I remember being thrilled at snow when we moved to OH from coastal area of southern CA.

Today it is 23 degrees below today’s average.

Bring on some global warming!

I’m thinking Mennonites may not know the song- probably not on the hymnals. Lady year my son & his wife got 8 inches of snow in the panhandle of FL . Or maybe early this year.

The better nights do know some songs like this even if they are not on the hymnals.

It's probably global warming that's making it colder where we are. The north polar region is warmer, making the wind patterns unstable, so polar air is flowing south more often. If the Atlantic currents, such as the Gulf Stream, are disrupted by the melting glaciers of Greenland, it could make Europe much colder.

"Global warming" is talking about the globe as a whole, not warming everywhere all the time. That's why some suggest that "catastrophic climate change" is a better term. "Catastrophic" here means sudden, not that it's a catastrophe. The cause of catastrophic climate change is still anthropogenic warming of the Earth's atmosphere and oceans.

I see no catastrophic and little change.

Climate always changes. From what I’ve read from reputable sources the earth wobbles in its orbit. The sunspots and flares always impact our weather. The crust of the earth shifts and exposes new volcanoes. The whole change thing is not in our control.
The Chinese are pushing that myth to sell us more batteries, solar panels and windmills. They don’t have fossil fuels.

When then summer temperatures are setting records, its global warming. When the hurricanes are active it is global warming.
When winter temperatures are setting records, the media doesn’t much blame global warming. And how many hurricanes were there last season? I remember that hurricanes were scheduled to be bigger and much more frequent by now, due to global warming.

Climate is about averages over time. The media often conflate weather (short term changes) with climate. So do many climate change skeptics.

Does anyone actually disagree that the climate is changing? Is the real question whether we should be concerned?

Clearly, Carbon Dioxide levels have gone way up since the Industrial Revolution:

Globally averaged temperatures have, too:

1. Are we discussing the topic? Good.
2. Are we going around and around in a fight? Let's stop doing that.
3. Is there some serious wrongdoing or relational injury? Let's address that, probably not in public and certainly not for show.

I'm not going to wade into the details of this debate as I'm sure there are plenty here that know more than I do. But I see two fallacies in this post:
1) Hype or lack of hype in "the media" is not an accurate indication of truth.
2) What happened or didn't happen last year means almost nothing in this debate. Look at trends, not a single data point.
