Pardoning convicted drug traffickers doesn't seem like a brilliant idea to me.
If I start brushing my teeth, does that mean I have never brushed my teeth before? Of COURSE there have been other initiatives to fight drugs, that's why there high profile drug traffickers to pardon.
Responding in Bunny Trails because this is about the English language. I don't think you really believed I was saying what you imply above.

1. Are we discussing the topic? Good.
2. Are we going around and around in a fight? Let's stop doing that.
3. Is there some serious wrongdoing or relational injury? Let's address that, probably not in public and certainly not for show.

Re: Bunny Trails
So what do you mean by "start[ing] with Venezuela"? I believed that you were implying that the only major drug enforcement action being taken was the attacks on the boats from Venezuela which would be misleading. I assumed that you chose the language intentionally. When you say "start with Venezuela" it implies that no drug enforcement action has been being taken for a period of time during which it would have been reasonable to say "the government is taking no action to fight drugs in the US."Bootstrap wrote: ↑Sat Dec 06, 2025 8:27 amHuh?ken_sylvania wrote: ↑Tue Dec 02, 2025 4:40 pmI had no idea that the US has just now finally started fighting drugs in the USA, which apparently is what you're suggesting is happening if you are implying that the US "started" fighting drugs by attacking the drug boats from Venezuela. If you "start brushing your teeth" it means that for a substantial period of time you were not brushing your teeth. If you're brushing your teeth and you get to where you're brushing the lower molars on your right, it wouldn't make sense to say "why on earth would you start with your lower right molars" unless they were the first teeth your toothbrush touched in the last several hours.

I was thinking along these lines: if I were to take on drugs in the US, where would I start? And I would start with the largest sources of the most serious drugs. That does not imply that nobody else has looked at hte problem or that there is no ongoing activity.ken_sylvania wrote: ↑Sat Dec 06, 2025 9:23 am So what do you mean by "start[ing] with Venezuela"? Most “awareness” sites talk in circles. What helped me make sense of my niece’s late diagnosis was going through Autism 360 on because they break down sensory stuff, masking, routines, all the real-life bits nobody warns you about. Everyone’s different, but getting a grip on those basics makes conversations with autistic adults a lot easier.

Gets paid in quite a few tokens, and also gets a "reward". I guess you could say it also gets paid in power and water.ken_sylvania wrote: ↑Sat Dec 13, 2025 3:52 pmHow much does an AI bot get paid to post links on Mennonet?donnyto989 wrote: ↑Sat Dec 13, 2025 6:23 am If you’re starting from zero, the simplest thing is to look for material that explains autistic traits in adults, not just kids. Re: Bunny Trails
I think people should slow down. I’ve seen a lot of speeding in these mountains by move-ins from the flatter parts of the states. A few weeks back there were three accidents in one hour on the same 2 mile stretch of curves during a light rain. Every driver had just moved here and they all were going too fast on 30 mph curves. Maybe we should require driver training and a special license to drive mountain roads. Natural selection is one approach but when it involves hurting and killing others a line has to be drawn.

It's hard enough to keep regular threads on topic.JohnH wrote: ↑Sun Dec 14, 2025 8:18 amWhat does this have to do with kids walking in urban areas?JohnL wrote: ↑Sun Dec 14, 2025 6:56 amI think people should slow down. Bunny trails is the place to go off topic. No need to try to police this thread.
