if so, some form of this needs to be internet-wide.
(esp with professionals, who are educated, paid and supposed to know better.)
Elon is focused on lies+exploitation, bad actors. An important starting point.
LOTS happens on the internet that is simply ignorance/thoughtlessness.
Like reporting a house fire without so much as the state or country identified! This happens all the time.
Weather forecasts with no location. ugh.
Come on, people! It’s the www, the internet! Not your local church newsletter.

Robby Soave and Lindsey Granger:
Robby Soave delivers his radar on a new feature on X that allows users to see what country an account is based in, leading to the discovery that some 'America First' accounts are not from America.
One of the most irritating things on the internet is: lack of LOCATION on internet reports. Includng professional news sites.
i hope X is just the start.
If the internet was invented 200 years earlier, editors and journalists, teachers, etc., would have never let it fly without key identifiers. “PUT YOUR NAME AND DATE ON YOUR PAPER!” i believe i heard frustrated teachers demand in class 1000 times.
Of course on the internet, privacy and safety must be factors.
LOCATION should be included on every internet report as the standard. DATE.
WHO WHAT WHEN WHERE
Old school still works!
(i didn’t sign up for Twitter, nor X, nor most others. i see some content others share.)

Interesting combo
i fear, in my enthusiasm for improved internet tweaks, i did a poor job of describing my view.
from the little i’ve seen, Musk has made an important improvement, i hope so. his aim is not identical to my wish.
maybe i should have addressed Musk about my questions, instead of occasionally trying to ask individual news reporters if they could please include location in their reports? i’ve never received a reply.
“location” can be general, i.e., a city or state, even country! some reports do not hint at country!
not necessarily including street address, suite or apartment number.

i’ve also occasionally asked different ones on the internet if they could please stop using profanity on the internet.
no reply. (i wish LOADS of people would pose this request directly to content providers, regardless of description.)
Too many noisy politicians indulge in profanity and gratuitous profanity, too.
To repeat, i see the benefit of standards for career professionals as a different thing apart from any-ordinary individual,
including minors.

The Hill RISING takes another stab at Musk’s X change:
RISING attempts civil discussion between a conservative and liberal.

I noticed today that Mr. Musk reposted something I would think of as white supremacist or maybe white nationalist and responded "100%". He does seem to be on a dark path.

Or perhaps such things aren’t actually white supremacist and just express normal, mainstream opinions that people used to be afraid to say.
For example, NYC’s person in charge of housing under the new mayor Mamdani claims that owning a home is a form of “white supremacy”:

I don’t know what you’re referring to at all, but it sounds to me like he may be on a “light” path.
