It's wild turkey season here and I've smoked 4 wild turkeys so far this week for clients. There's been a lot of insects and mast on the ground. The hunters have been pretty successful bagging their limit.

We used to have a lot of them in Michigan.

Here in Texas, we have a real bad infestation of wild hogs. Camp ground has a lot lately. Time to cull the herd. Heard they are not that good for eating though.

You are right, they aren't, especially the males. Every year some team Mennonites in our area have a deer roast supper where a deer is roasted in a large barrel contraption on wheels. They add a special blend of various BBQ sauces, and the deer is delicious. One year they roasted a wild boar. Even with a special BBQ sauce it didn't taste the best and had a peculiar smell.

The venison would be really good. I've never eaten wild hogs. If a meat is too gamey we give it to our dogs.

Ours has been slow almost to a stop too. Is it solar flares? Or did someone accidentally kick the plug out of the main internet center?

Glad they fixed it. Sometimes I miss the old rotary phone era. It slowed us down but where do we have to be in such a hurry? There’s no time to really think things through any more. Kids are just searching the internet for instant answers instead of learning to think through the answers. Is there any school that teaches logic still?
I’m sitting here drinking my coffee and waiting on Larry, Moe and Curley to show up and help me by lifting this replacement toilet out of the pickup and put it in place. The wax ring is already situated. My knees are so bad I couldn’t steady the previous new one so it dropped and I broke it. Its replacement came in yesterday. It’s real life irony when i get a chair height toilet because of my knees and it’s because of my knees I broke it. My life can be a clown car.
