Global Anglican Church split

Christianity can be taxonomically divided into six main groups: the Church of the East, Oriental Orthodoxy, Eastern Orthodoxy, Roman Catholicism, Protestantism, and Restorationism. Protestantism includes many groups which do not share any ecclesiastical governance and have widely diverging beliefs and practices. Major Protestant branches include Adventism, Anabaptism, Anglicanism, Baptists, Lutheranism, Methodism, Moravianism, Quakerism, Pentecostalism, Plymouth Brethren, Reformed Christianity, and Waldensianism.

Global Anglican Church split

Post by Praxis+Theodicy »

I didn't see any other threads on this topic. I heard some of the news when the split was rumored or suspected, then just a week later there was a real split. I haven't read up on the details, but when I have time I want to watch some of ReadyToHarvest's videos (his last 4 or 5 videos are on this topic).

I know it primarily has to do with the Archbishop of Canterbury (the head of their episcopal heirarchy) that just replaced the last one is a woman, which many considered too far into improper church governance from an apostolic perspectives.

Those who broke off are claiming they are the true continuation of the global Anglican communion.

The Bible is very easy to understand. But we Christians are a bunch of scheming swindlers. We pretend to be unable to understand it because we know very well that the minute we understand we are obliged to act accordingly.

Did they go ahead and split? I haven't been following it since I posted about the woman who now leads it.
