I got it from Ernie, on this forum, checked the sources, and it was legitimate.

Thanks for your unfounded accusation, though.
Could you please list the sources, so I can check them too? I’m curious where the 97% statistic came from.
I'll let Ernie talk about it further.

As you can imagine, it's not particularly pleasant to engage with me since you accused me of just making stuff up.

Ok. You don’t have to. I don’t mean to be mean, but when someone presents a specific number as fact, it’s completely reasonable to ask where it comes from. I’m not the only one in this thread who said they are skeptical about it. If you can’t or won’t give a source, it’s fair to conclude that the 97 % figure was simply made up.

Fair enough. I apologize for accusing you. It didn't really aid the discussion and it was an unnecessary secondhand attack on your character. I shouldn't have done it because it's not what Jesus would have me do.

The Bible is very easy to understand. But we Christians are a bunch of scheming swindlers. We pretend to be unable to understand it because we know very well that the minute we understand we are obliged to act accordingly.

So Ernie confirmed he doesn't remember where he got that 97% number, and it sounds like a lot of what he’s saying is based on personal experiences and impressions rather than data.

Do you happen to know which book or article it came from? I haven’t been able to find anything that matches it.
