Valerie,

Reformed denominations like Parkside tend to have no problem at all with drinking alcohol and using tobacco, so this seems a very odd criticism.

Are Smish a split from Amish?

A wee little man can’t say, I’m sorry. A big man owns his mistakes and apologizes.
A wee little man trusts himself and his own discernment. A big man is humble enough to know that he needs the counsel and input of others.

The Gospel “plus” . Listen I’ve known enough former Amish and what I e learned to be glad they started Parkside.
Does Parkside forbid smoking cigarettes?

We don’t have extra Biblical rules but to imply Middlefield youth don’t have problems from things I’ve heard would be incorrect. Evangelicals would typically see smoking as wrong.

I know nothing about Middlefield youth, nor where it is.

But if the Middlefield Smish don’t have a extra Biblical rule against smoking, and if Parkside doesn’t have an extra Biblical rule against smoking, and if both groups have a few people who smoke - what’s the difference?

Are Smish a split from Amish?
One of many. It started with the Bmish, then the Cmish, then the Dmish ...

1. Are we discussing the topic? Good.
2. Are we going around and around in a fight? Let's stop doing that.
3. Is there some serious wrongdoing or relational injury? Let's address that, probably not in public and certainly not for show.

The second group has freedom from anti tobacco rules naturally.

A bit farther down the alphabet, Omish is actually a correct, though archaic, spelling.
