You know in Revelation where it says there was silence in Heaven for a half hour? That is to give all the prophecy teachers time to adjust their charts.Szdfan wrote: ↑Thu Sep 25, 2025 9:05 am My grandfather was deeply interested and fascinated by end-times theology. Towards the end of his life, my grandfather had a bit of a faith crises when it became apparent that Jesus wasn’t going to return in his lifetime. He dealt with that by reading and thinking on the nature of heaven and I think that gave him peace.Wesleyb wrote: ↑Thu Sep 25, 2025 9:10 amYou know in Revelation where it says there was silence in Heaven for a half hour? I learned something new today. Apparently, TikTok does not reliably tell us what God is thinking.
Who knew?

1. Are we discussing the topic? Good.
2. Are we going around and around in a fight? Let's stop doing that.
3. Is there some serious wrongdoing or relational injury? Let's address that, probably not in public and certainly not for show.

That's because it is still owned by the Godless commies.
When ownership gets transferred to some red-blooded Americans that might change!

I remember a book from the 1970s called The Late Great Planet Earth. It's author died last year I heard. I got caught up with that book for about a month before I discovered that there were cracks in that chinking.Wesleyb wrote: ↑Thu Sep 25, 2025 8:21 am I remember being tempted by this stuff as a teenager. Older people in my life, even ones with very strong pre-millenial views were mostly very cautious or skeptical. But it was enticing. All the newly revealed hidden knowledge about new moons, red heifers, feast days, the newly established nation of Israel, Daniel's prophecies. Yes, Jesus did say no man knows . . . but there were ways to get around that. I never really bought in to it, now I'm becoming one of those elders that needs to provide an example of not being caught up in speculation like this, instead living a steady Christian life for however many years I'm here.

Re: Rapture 2025
I heard a good deal about everyone preparing for the rapture this past Tuesday, but I never heard about the source. Who predicted this date? Why did it catch on?

The Bible is very easy to understand. But we Christians are a bunch of scheming swindlers. We pretend to be unable to understand it because we know very well that the minute we understand we are obliged to act accordingly.

Re: Rapture 2025
The source was Joshua Mhlakela, some pastor from South Africa. The significance of the date was Rosh Hoshana (which happens every year).Praxis+Theodicy wrote: ↑Mon Sep 29, 2025 5:21 am I heard a good deal about everyone preparing for the rapture this past Tuesday, but I never heard about the source. It remains a mystery why anyone listens to these guys.South African Pastor Joshua Mhlakela publicly described a divine vision apparently given to him in which he heard Jesus speak directly stating his return to earth would take place on the 23rd and 24th of September. According to Mhlakela, it takes place over two days because the Feast of Trumpets itself takes place over two days.

One of our ministers talked about this in an opening message yesterday. It sort of annoys me that we even consider something like this worth mentioning.JohnH wrote: ↑Mon Sep 29, 2025 6:25 amThe source was Joshua Mhlakela, some pastor from South Africa. Re: Rapture 2025
I really don’t get it when the scriptures clearly state no man knows the day or the hour… not even the Son of Man himself.
Yet it happens over and over. People who attempt to make this prediction (like Jonathan Cahn, whose books seem to be showing up on many Anabaptists’ nightstands) need called out.
