Things that are not part of politics happening presently and how we approach or address it as Anabaptists.

So on which campus is this brainwashing actually happening then? If it helps, his current tour was to colleges in Utah, Colorado, Minnesota, Virginia, North Dakota, Indiana, Louisiana and Mississippi.
If you want to discuss the fact that some colleges and universities are NOT brainwashing and indoctrinating young people, this thread is not the place.
I’m not the one who raised the topic and made the accusation. I’m just asking for clarification and details.
There is plenty of clarification and details out there if one is willing to do a simple internet search OUTSIDE of the fake mainstream media. Just Google, "How colleges and universities brain wash young people" and you will find many clarifications.

The Memorial Service spoke to the "indoctrination" of the youth. I think most here would agree with that. I do see a shift away from that lately.

One example of that indoctrination is men in women's sports and bathrooms. Charlie did speak against that and most likely why he was murdered.

Again, not the place to discuss the politics of it. Please take that to the Politics section.

I saw some of the memorial and a few things stood out to me. I really appreciated Tucker Carlson's call not just to forgive others, but also to ask for forgiveness for our own trespasses. And I also appreciated his call for nonviolence. Earlier this week, he also called for nonviolence and said it is never acceptable, except maybe in self defense... I found it very interesting when he added the "maybe".

Erika Kirk's message was also powerful. Of course, only Jesus can forgive the sins of whoever the person is who assassinated Charlie Kirk, but it is important to see a Christian (and Catholic) witness with Erika Kirk expressing she has personally forgiven the assassin.

I also found Trump's message moving when he said he doesn't love his enemies, but that Charlie Kirk did, and he acknowledged Charlie Kirk wouldn't like to hear him say that. I found that honesty from a politician very refreshing. Trump didn't pretend to personally be a Christian, but he did say that America needs religion and that that service reminded him of an old-time tent revival meeting.

There were also a number of excellent worship songs played, including a favorite of mine, Holy Forever. Thousands of people in attendance and millions throughout the globe were watching and listening. Charlie Kirk's pastor also gave an altar call and many responded. May many more lives be touched and accept Christ's gospel of peace and grow in faith at a local church.

The current “state of things” is due to stark refusal of the “more earthly powerful” to acknowledge or even listen to, half or more of the population. Historically, a big mistake.

i’m so sorry it went so far. “All this” could have been avoided, by any measure respect for other opinions.

As CK embodied. No magic. Listening and dialogue. He wasn’t a genius or scholar.

Dangerous work.

i’m surprised to be HOPEFUL changes are in process.
Esp in The Trifecta: msm news+entertainment, gov policies, public ed.

A lot appears in Credible News. viewtopic.php?t=95
i intend to begin a topic on PRAGERU materials showing up in public schools!
(Not Thomas Sowell, not yet.)

Changes in Harvard and other universities are significant. Some discussion on MN.

A long time coming. Balance.

In a better world, it wouldn’t have come to this. Life on earth.

Certainly there are ditches on both sides of the road.
That doesn’t mean it’s futile to aim for the narrow path. ‘Not an excuse.

i’m perfectly comfortable with an older, wiser, more docile Trump.

I apologize; I was attempting divert Ken away from baiting Valerie and myself to an argument on this thread and do his own research.

In an earlier post I said this:
If you want to discuss the fact that some colleges and universities are NOT brainwashing and indoctrinating young people, this thread is not the place
.

Of course, that did not stop Ken from inappropriately pursuing the quest for an argument on this thread.

I thought this was really interesting. I think it was powerful for people to see the contrast between Christian and non-Christian responses. I didn't watch it, but I did hear an audio clip on the news of Trump saying this. I believe he actually went beyond saying he doesn't love his enemies and said he hates his enemies. I could hear the crowd cheering when he said this, so obviously not everyone ready to follow her (and Christ's) example.

I said in my post yesterday that I had at least a small amount of hope for Charlie's legacy. That hope was just strengthened a bit.

I hope so, but the proof will be in the fruit borne by those converts.
True but I’m mindful of the parable of the sower. Charlie sowed more seeds in his short life than most and some seed will fall on fertile soil no doubt, God loves these young people so much and Charlie knew this, so he was faithful to the call.

The parts of the Memorial service I saw reminded me a bit of some of the United Kingdom state events I have seen over the years (coronation, royal weddings, state funerals)...and it brought out many of the same emotions I have related to the uncomfortable mix of the spiritual power of the Gospel with the coercive power of the state. There were parts of the service that were lovely and quite moving, culminating with Erica's expressed forgiveness and clear articulation of faith in Jesus. Much of the worship was quite sincere as well - heart-felt I'm sure. But, unfortunately, some other parts of the service were more profane, including Steven Miller's evocation of a political holy war against "them," and President Trump's declaration of hate for his enemies.

As an Anabaptist, it reminds me once again of the unholy alliance of faith and politics. I fear the tragic assassination of Charlie Kirk is pulling unwary Christians further into Trump/Miller's political war rather than toward the love-grounded and nonrestiant gospel of Christ - and that does not advance the Kingdom.

I turned it on and was turned off by the blatant and unseemly attempts to profit off of his death.
