It would be dark indeed…but I’m not sure we know enough to assert this motive just yet.

Logic
Fact - he received death threats because he asked uncomfortable questions.
Fact - he was murdered.
The list of probabilities re motive is quite slim. Improbabilities too.

Anytime a man is murdered for asking uncomfortable questions it’s a dark day for the human race. May God have mercy on us.

We have absolutely no idea why he was murdered.

But we do know one thing for certain. Logic had nothing to do with it. It never does when it comes to school shootings.

i had no idea how popular Charlie Kirk was, esp among young people.
Some thought of him as a potential president.

i’m surprised he spoke at WSU last April.

i’m perfectly comfortable with an older, wiser, more docile Trump.

That's not WSU reacting to Charlie Kirk's death. That is a reporter interviewing one student, the leader of the WSU College Republicans.

In any event, I'm not sure what you find surprising about Kirk speaking at WSU. Kirk's stock in trade was speaking at colleges. My youngest daughter attends WSU and she heard him speak last April. It isn't some stereotypical liberal place. It is in the wheat fields of far eastern Washington State only miles from the Idaho border in a region of the state that is bright red. The school itself is very middle of the road and perhaps the most conservative public university in Washington. It is also perhaps the most isolated and rural major university in the country. The wheat fields literally start across the street from my daughter's apartment. The University of Idaho is right next door in Moscow Idaho (home of Douglas Wilson's right-wing mega church) but the whole region is less than 100,000 population.

I think the country is in shock. Charlie was/is a man of faith who has had opportunity few have endeavored to be a voice on college campuses, we hope and pray his death will make a difference as his life did. Sooo sorry for his wife & children.
Lord have mercy on America, we have listened our way.

It would be dark indeed…but I’m not sure we know enough to assert this motive just yet.

We live in a very troubling time.

In the last couple of days, I saw two T-shirts on customers that disturbed me greatly. The first one a young man was wearing the back of the shirt, said “he was fed through a wood chipper and” he came to my register to check out. The front of the shirt was a bloody scene of a man that had been fed through a wood chipper. I was horrified and I even said something which I never do. He apologized. He’s in a heavy metal band that they wear stuff like that. Satan had an influence there?

Then, yesterday I saw a young lady, dressed very strange purple hair, who had on a T-shirt, which I could read the back of from where I was. It had several target figures on it as if shooting targets, and one of them was a police officer. I wasn’t sure exactly All the dates listed on her shirt as if some sort of list of dates of events for a particular group of people that would be interested, but it conveyed to me a promotion of shooting police. I can’t say for sure what the other targets were.

I understand Charlie Kirk’s attempt at reaching young people for good, not evil. Whether we agree with his way or not, he was trying hard.

It is also okay to let people vent a little without having to correct them.

We grieve and express ourselves in those moments. Constant correction minimizes the grief process. It actually builds frustration and with frustration, people often strike out in pain for vengeance.

Sometimes it best to just shut up and listen.
