What are appropriate and inappropriate forms of entertainment for Christians?

When it just doesn't fit anywhere else.

There is a difference between living ordinary Christian lives in Reno or Las Vegas or anyplace else.

And traveling for ENTERTAINMENT to destinations that market vice and debauchery as part of their appeal. Gambling in the case of Vegas and I assume carnival for Rio? Although that is just one week out of the year and celebrated across Latin America and the Caribbean.
But it seems gambling is in many cities now... you could go to Cleveland for gambling, or Cologne for the Kölner Karneval. These vices are everywhere.

You don't need to go anywhere. Just pull out your phone or computer.

A little late to the party. Lots of thoughtful replies thus far. My views on this has changed a bit. I'm an ex-transplant for those that are new. Recently, my occupation has changed as well, from being a warehouse monkey to making deliveries with a small box truck, plus I'm learning to drive the big stuff.

I'm a railfan and enjoy watching trains and I see a lot of them out on the road. I think that is a "spiritually safe" hobby. We do have flatscreens in our home but it is tightly controlled, at least with the younger children. I do subscribe to two steaming services, but truth be told, I watch way more YouTube channels, mostly cooking stuff, truck driving stuff and comedy.

Used to fish some. I think most outdoor ventures are pretty safe provided it doesn't become "buck fever." A coworker enjoys economics and finance and loves to dabble in the markets, but he appears to treat it as a hobby.

Sure I've have more later.

That's a little scary, actually. China is just now experimenting with it, and I didn't think we had it here yet.
