In the unlikely event that the ceasefire holds for at least 30 days I wonder whether you will make any positive comments about Pres. Trump's role in it.

Why does it matter whether or not I say something nice about Trump? I still think it was a bad decision even if the ceasefire holds.

Trump is consistent and convincing,
1) he loathes war and killing - on every side,
2) he was crystal-clear and focused on removing nuclear capabilities from Iran, NOT targeting civilians,
3) he was clear about NO intent for the US to seek regime change, leaving those decisions to Iranians.

How is any of this like (Neocons) or previous CICs?

Comparing this to every other U.S. military action in my lifetime, including billions to Ukraine*, this is remarkable.
i’m praying for the best outcome for all.

Trump is so hated by the MIC and their lot, he risks his very life to defy them.

i believe this is something different. i hope so. i hope it succeeds. for all involved, directly and indirectly.

*i consider “billions to Ukraine” (mostly for military support) - as equivalent to war.

i’m perfectly comfortable with an older, wiser, more docile Trump.

That remains to be seen. (i’ve seen some reactions of gratitude.)
If results are positive with little human loss, no ugly-costly protracted war, there could easily be humble appreciation. If quiet.
Too early to know.
imho :?
There seems to be optimism/cautious optimism in the world; removing nuclear options from Iran seems wanted by most.
Some are showing respect and appreciation. It’s early to know.

The tactics of suicidal organized/radicalized individuals/small groups wreaking havoc anywhere in the world is a challenge.
Will that continue? Time will tell. It’s an altogether different mindset.

What was so bad about Trump pushing them for a ceasefire?

Not the ceasefire. The air strikes.

I am undecided on the air strikes too. I am not surprised. Seems like this has been coming for a long time. I am not surprised Trump acted. Worldly kingdoms make worldly decisions.

In the Middle East, might makes right. It will be perceived differently than we will.

I also hear more countries may be signing onto the Abraham Accords. This is how long term peace will be found there.

I’m not convinced destroying nuclear-weapon facilities is “violence” either.

I think it’s a good thing to destroy bombs, ammunition stores, weapons depots, and nuclear bombs.

The same logic could be applied to any war target and thus you need nuclear weapons.
An aircraft Carrier is basically more effective than a nuclear weapon in terms of projecting power. At the end of the day, if you justify killing military targets, you are one step away from just war theory. You already are basically claiming just war for a preemptive strike. Sure you likely are unwilling to actually fight, but you are taking a position that violence by implication is only against civilians.

When a nuclear power attacks a non-nuclear power is simply reinforces to them and the rest of the world why nuclear weapons are desirable. If nuclear powers oppose nuclear proliferation they should behave better and seek international defense agreements that make them unnecessary for smaller countries to have.

Iraq (second gulf war) was premised the lie that Iraq was pursuing nuclear weapons

Russian invasion of Ukraine. Would not have happened if Ukraine had kept its nukes. And I would be shocked if Ukraine isn't secretly exploring nuclear weapons. Ukraine has lots of nuclear scientists and plenty of uranium.
Yes i think the same ukraine must be regretting giving up their nuclear weapons in the 90's
