i hope so. i enjoy having him around.

Today ..
Adjusting to the big weather front that blew through several midwest states, Kentucky north to Wisconsin+Michigan.
i was ok here, we had tornado watches and, much less common, dust storm warnings.

Somehow, i didn’t see the dust storm here, but my neighbors texted from about an hour west, they were in it, AND it hit Chicago.
All that top soil! i’ve seen big dust storms occasionally, not often, not huge like Arizona. Poor to zero highway visibility.
i think they come up sometimes before the field crops are up.

Our electricity stayed on, but internet was out for about 24 hours. i could call, text, no images or weather checks.
So i didn’t know how bad it was until it was over.

“At least 28 dead as tornadoes, storms batter states from the Heartland to the East Coast”
The NWS said it's believed the tornado that hit St. Louis was at least an EF-3.

^^This is saying “first ever” for Chicago. i doubt it. “The Windy City”
i’m not going to research.

Still. It makes a mess.

Thought it might be a relaxing weekend, but I watched Operation Toussiant on Prime Video this morning. Story of Tim Ballard and Operation Underground Railroad. They work to rescue children from human trafficking. Pretty heavy stuff. This country is quite sick. The US is the major purchaser of trafficked children. Lord, come quickly.

More storms this week. We're getting tree-fall happening even after the storms are over. The saturated soil on the mountainside is loosening the roots and the trees collapse on power lines. The internet keeps going in and out. Our generator is keeping the AC going so there's that.
Just more "fun" for tired mountain communities.

The same section of I40 on the NC-TN border is flooded again due to a landslide. That section was wiped out by Helene. It was rebuilt and has only been reopened for 3 months. They need to reroute that puppy.

We lost power for several hours yesterday for a similar reason. Ground is quite saturated here too. Strange for Texas in June. June usually starts the dry season. Seems to have shifted back a month here.

Another very heavy documentary is "Line in the Sand" where James O'Keefe follows immigrants from Mexico to the U.S. The little 10-year-old girl with those big brown eyes, and traveling alone, breaks my heart. From 2021 to 2024 the human and sex trafficking of women and children not only got worse, but it also got easier, with the open borders. And it was pure evil.

It was behind a paywall, so I never got to see it. I would like to watch it.
