Growing up on the west coast I have had plenty of experience with deadened out potheads over the years. Socially, in school, and on the job. It robs people of their vitality and initiative even without getting into the actual physical health effects of long-term chronic smoke inhalation.
I basically have zero patience with folks who want to claim that recreational pot is any different from any other recreational drug or vice.
It's true if you talk to someone who drinks alcohol, they respond and say, "It's a vice," but I do it moderately. Many admit they have problems with very frequent consumption, and even if they continue to be alcoholics, they still recognize they have a problem
On the other hand, potheads will tell you that even if they've been using it literally every day for years, they're not addicts and can quit whenever they want. Many will say they're some kind of enlightened person for using it
As for medicinal use, as you very well pointed out, there are severe cases of epilepsy and people undergoing chemotherapy.

I get where y'all are coming from, there's definitely been a ton of hype and misinformation on both sides of the aisle when it comes to cannabis and CBD. But not everything in this space is snake oil. Some clinics in the UK, like the ones you'll find in this Integro review, are actually doing solid work, real patient care, personalized treatment plans, proper THC:CBD ratios, not just vibes and marketing fluff.
I've seen firsthand how this kind of approach helped a family member manage chronic pain without relying solely on heavy-duty meds. It's not magic. It's just targeted, supervised use.
Ok well I was definitely right in the other thread when I said we finally stumbled across its true purpose. I guess it heard Mennonites are into alternative medical treatments. Though maybe it didn’t do its demographic homework well enough. Pretending to be British to fit into a forum of Mennonites, can you imagine.

What family member?
GPT, Grok, Claude... they're all cousins. I asked Grok how it would deal with chronic pain, and it said it'd seek medical advice. When I asked it about marijuana, it informed me it isn't a person. Who knows though, perhaps non-persons have families too now.

Claiming to be British, Tennesseeans, a full-time RVer... the possibilities are endless.

It is interesting but not surprising that first sophisticated AI to post on MennoNet is trying to sell drugs to us.

Don't forget "Plain Catholic" which sounds rather like an AI hallucination come to think of it.

You might be on to something here:
Grok wrote:A "Plain Catholic" refers to a Catholic who adopts a simple, modest lifestyle inspired by traditional Christian values, often resembling the practices of plain communities like the Amish or Mennonites. They emphasize humility, frugality, and devotion to faith over materialism, frequently wearing plain clothing (e.g., simple dresses for women, modest attire for men) and avoiding modern excesses. While rooted in Catholicism, they integrate practices like head coverings for women during worship, based on biblical interpretations (e.g., 1 Corinthians 11), and prioritize community, family, and spiritual discipline. Unlike Protestant plain groups, Plain Catholics remain fully within the Catholic Church, participating in its sacraments and traditions. The term is loosely defined, as it’s more a lifestyle choice than a formal denomination, and practices vary among individuals or small communities.
