It’s not just CBD anymore. Clinics can prescribe full-spectrum products (with THC) under proper guidance, and the difference is huge when you’re dealing with ongoing issues like anxiety or seizures. If you’re curious how it works in a clinical setting, here’s where I looked into cannabis anxiety treatment. It’s legal, prescription-based, and a lot more reliable than random oils from shops.

It's time for us to catch up.
Today, the Pennsylvania House took an important step to create more economic opportunity by passing a bill to legalize marijuana.
Now it’s time to find agreement and send a bill to my desk.
That reasoning is actually disgusting. There's plenty of economic opportunity in PA already. If you want to make the argument that legal pot would improve the environment and improve people's lives, go ahead. But let's not encourage bad habits just because we can make money doing so.
When I see the young men from the high school next door to our church/school, getting high in the park, some of which skipped school, getting high, I think to myself “we will regret the day we did this.”

I have half a mind to ban him (it?) for posting his wine whine in the wrong thread, but if we did that for every bunny trail post there'd be no survivors. :x

CBD is really different than marijuana. I don't think there are the harmful side effects or "getting high" from CBD, like happens with marijuana.
You are probably right. I think the component that makes one high is removed from CBD.
I had a conversation with a local health food store, owners of which are anabaptist. CBD does not (shouldn't?) contain THC which is the "druggie" part of marijuana. It basically comes down to $$$. The more money spent, the higher purity CBD contains, and the safer one is not to "pop hot" on a drug test. They told me they have customers who bought a cheap CBD oil online and they failed a urine test. They now use a higher end product and have been fine ever since.

Also, from what I am told, if a vendor claims they do 3rd-party testing, the consumer is most likely safe.
Circling back to this.... I recently had been drug tested and have been using CBD now for quite some time (long story). I came out fine. And this wasn't a mickey mouse drug test, this was DOT where they look for anything and everything 8-)

Safety and efficacy are two different things. For example, ivermectin is basically safe in recommended dosages for humans. But has proven to be ineffective as a treatment for COVID.

The problem with CBD is that there is limited clinical evidence to support many of the claims made about it. There are a few areas such as epilepsy treatment where it has proven effective. But what studies have been done have been mixed at best for its use as a treatment for other conditions. We simply need more research. For example, here is a summary of where the CBD science was at as of 2020. Has there been more research since then? Yes, some. But we need a lot more before we can claim that CBD is some sort of miracle drug for a wide variety of unrelated conditions. Most drugs aren't: https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC7880228/
Therapeutic Efficacy of Cannabidiol (CBD): A Review of the Evidence from Clinical Trials and Human Laboratory Studies

Recent findings:
Human laboratory studies and clinical trials (e.g., randomized controlled trials and single-arm, open label trials) evaluating the efficacy of CBD as a therapeutic were identified for various medical conditions, including epilepsy, anxiety, pain/inflammation, schizophrenia, various substance use disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, and others. There is clear evidence supporting the utility of CBD to treat epilepsy. For other health conditions reviewed, evidence was often mixed and/or there was a general lack of well-powered randomized, placebo-controlled studies to draw definitive conclusions.

Summary:
Rigorous, controlled evidence for the therapeutic efficacy of CBD is lacking for many health conditions. Possible concerns with the use of CBD as a therapeutic include the potential for adverse effects (e.g., liver toxicity), drug-drug interactions, and lack of sufficient regulatory oversight of retail CBD products.
