“THEY” didn’t just make it up through watching news and word of mouth. Plenty of gov funded NGOs and activists were encouraging and grooming them so that, if they had nothing else, they had enough legal language that would hustle them through the system.

^^If not an outright scam, a twin brother.

This is why i prefer to look at the miscreants TOP-DOWN, those most responsible for this travesty, those least affected, while most in line to benefit. The majority of immigrants are fit young males, at or near military age - those most able to endure the physical journey. Those most vulnerable to promises of THE GLOBAL GOLD RUSH of today. Risk-takers. Adventurers. Gamblers.

General traits and temptations of human males, age 15-25-ish, are fairly universal. :-|

Cross the border, sign up for MEDICAID. Free everything. Of course, wire as much money possible home to (cartels). Billions.

We now know $300 million (or more) of our money was spent via Catholic charities and other organizations to ENCOURAGE them across the border. Supplying maps, information, even advertising campaigns of how to sneak across.

Here’s just one example:

https://www.wkyc.com/article/news/verif ... 1606af45f2

PBS and the AP reported with pictures of one of the maps.

https://www.pbs.org/newshour/world/what ... ugh-mexico

It seems reasonable to not wanting our tax dollars to go for paying for “how to” guides on how to sneak across the border.

Notice your links are dated from a year ago, 2024, and 2018. This is not news.
It was going on before that. In multiple languages.

Gov supplies cellphones, etc., with changes over the years. Starting in 2004-ish?
Not sure about connections in remote locations. Starlink? Another topic.

The news is that high leadership is attempting to mitigate damages - of course it won’t be easy.
Some, esp in high places, will cause as much damage possible - and, they have loads of practice.

It’s a human travesty - for legal citizens AND illegals, played against each other by unscrupulous retrobates.
It would be hard for me to have a lower opinion of those responsible.

Pray for no assassinations. This is dangerous work.

Most of these folks have cell phones and, therefore, google maps. As well as access to a bazillion social media forums in every language talking about how to cross the border. I don't know what the Red Cross was doing. They are generally a horribly run organization full of bloat. But I doubt some paper maps on that scale are putting out any information people already don't know. That is like trying to navigate across the US with a US map the size of a napkin.

Mankind has efficiently migrated for always via the sun, moon+stars, and with basic compasses.
A map on a napkin mght be more than enough.

Mankind often followed animal trails which led to footpaths, then roads, then highways.
It’s far from impossible.

That’s not the point. No one is confused about the point.

I think you can be a very slippery writer, and you write in a way that hides more than it communicates. What’s the point you’re making?
