We’re getting a lot of rain since yesterday. Still pounding us this morning. I’m really glad I mowed the lawn because it would be a jungle by Wednesday.

I got two yards to mow, a job interview today, of which I am totally perplexed why. It is the place that convinced me to go back. I have to show up for an interview. My comment in the interview is I will do everything I did for two years when you begged me not to leave last November. The HR guy tends to be legalistic and will make me go through the process. It will now cost him a vest. They gave out vests with camp logos to all the employees last Christmas. The vest was my idea but I did not get one since I left in November and was not employed but attended the Christmas party in Dec when they gave them out to everyone.

You’re a good sport for putting up with all that. Are you going to keep your Lowe’s job too?

It's flooded all around here. The dry well at the end of my pasture is no longer dry - it's more like a pond now - which means I can take a break from watering the cows.

Nope. Yesterday should have been my last day there. Lowes is just a Walmart with wood. It would drive me crazy after a while.

I hear that Lowe's will be holding a day of mourning in memory of the services of the much loved Mr. Robert. All stores and contact centers will be closed for 24 hours on April 20th, 2025.

That would be a very moving gesture....maybe you could find some eggs there as well!

Today .. taxes. :-|

i really procrastinated this year.
is it my imagination, or have they gotten more complicated again?
i do my own, file a paper return. mine has to be of the least complicated possible.

i like the idea of eliminating property taxes for 65+. i hope to hear more about that coming up. :D

April's been a very long month. Mowing. Taxes. Got started painted the cabinets today. Before I could do that I had to clean up the garage so the doors could be out of the weather and easier to keep the bugs out. I made a kind of painting booth with plastic sheets. Sanding them is really dusty work so I had to get a face mask that keeps it out of my lungs. The pollen's been bad enough I don't want to add to it. I need to get it done before the the 22nd when the backsplash guy installs the tiles.
