That’s exactly what I’m doing. I’m pointing out a pattern I’ve observed in how Musk’s behavior is discussed compared to others.
Do not point out someone else's pattern, just share your perspective. Others will share theirs. You have as much right as anyone else to share your perspective. It is okay for someone to be wrong and post something you think is wrong. Just post what you think is right and shake the dust off your sandals and move on.
You can say Joe Blow is scum. I can say Joe Blow is a great guy. I do not need to correct you and you do not need to correct me. Just state your opinion, facts, or perspective and allow others to do the same.
Robert, I’m not saying people can’t have different perspectives—I’m saying that when moral standards shift depending on who is being judged, that’s worth discussing.
If someone condemns a behavior in one case but excuses it in another, isn’t it fair to ask why? That’s not about “correcting” people—it’s about examining how people justify their moral views.
I’m not expecting everyone to agree, but I think it’s fair to ask: Would Musk get the same treatment if he were a liberal? If the answer is no, then isn’t that worth acknowledging?

Of the members of modern culture, I have the most respect for the Satanists because at least they are being honest. For a member of modern culture to call himself a conservative is annoying because they don't conserve any traditional values, so this is hypocrisy. Elon Musk is a good example of this.

The reality is we all rationalize some. We have to. No other person will live up to our expectations. Well, few will. Just because I really like that Musk is working with DOGE and finding all kinds of waste and corruption does not mean I give him a pass on other things. It just means I can accept him as the broken person we all are.
I also do not see a moral shift where he is given more tolerance in those areas. If you do, that is fine, but I just am not seeing it. You are welcome to point it out if I do it. You have my permission. If I am doing it and am unaware, seeing it will at least allow me to consider it and evaluate if I should change some of my perspectives. Just do it in a healthy way, not a "I caught you!" way.

BTW, Musk is a liberal, just one that builds rockets and cuts costs.

I am not sure what Elon calls himself. I don’t follow him, has he said he is a conservative?
Franklin in terms of “conservatives” politically, what do you think that means?

Modern culture is worse than the culture of Sodom and Gomorrah, so all members of modern culture are evil.
Here is an example.
I think there are some good things about modern culture. I agree there are areas of badness, but I also see areas of goodness.
Franklin can have his opinion and I can state mine.
Of course people can have their opinions, but if all we’re doing is stating opinions and moving on without engaging each other, what then is the point of a discussion forum? What’s the goal here?

I don't see that much difference between American "conservatives" and "liberals". I think of them more like gang labels, like the crips and bloods (Los Angeles street gangs). Trump leads the conservative gang, and Musk is member.

I agree that we all rationalize at times—that’s human nature. I frequently wrestle with my own biases, blind spots and hypocrisies. But I don’t think that means we should just accept it without questioning when it happens, especially when it affects how we apply moral principles.
You say you don’t see Musk being given more tolerance than others—I respect that, but I do see it. I’m not coming at this with a “gotcha!” mindset, but I do think it’s worth asking questions about. I think this is something worth reflecting on.
Can you think of a public figure on the left who has had multiple children with multiple women and was given the same grace Musk has been given in this conversation? If there is one, I’d be interested to hear about it. If not, doesn’t that suggest there might be a different standard at play?

We do discuss but in this current frustration you are having, you’re not “accepting” people’s responses so it seems we’re going in circles and it becomes futile. It feels like to me you’re trying to force us to agree that we are doing what you think we are doing, no one seems to agree with that perspective- at that point there’s nothing left to discuss. I am sorry you are frustrated. It could be some misunderstanding but I think you’d feel better if you let this go at this point- again- Musk didn’t claim to be a Christian so I guess my earlier point was, Biden & Pelosi claimed to be but promoted evil in agendas such as abortion & LGBTQ- if Musk said he was a Christian and then pushed for evil “rights” that’s where I would have a real problem.

Franklin that is probably the closest description of political conservatism which you see as a “label” but that is why the two major parties- those core principles are not “spiritual” conservatism.
