That is a good point. I wasn't factoring this in. I can see that anyone advocating for releasing the hostages would have to make it loud and clear that they hate Israelis, be clear with their objectives, etc. if they wanted to stay living.

A wee little man can’t say, I’m sorry. A big man owns his mistakes and apologizes.
A wee little man trusts himself and his own discernment. A big man is humble enough to know that he needs the counsel and input of others.

Because when your grandma die in a bombardment and your little brother get's amputated for an israeli bombardment you get radicalized ... Unfortunatelly i don't see a good future there now add the fact governments in the region like turkey and iraq can use this conflict to deflect their internal problem and you have a dangerous cocktail there.Ernie wrote: ↑Tue Mar 18, 2025 4:45 am I still don't understand why the Gazan civilian populace didn't revolt against Hamas, and demand that the hostages be returned.
But either they are being fed inaccurate propaganda, or else their pro-Muslim ideology against Israel is driving them to support Hamas. Maybe both.
And the big question now is egypt is a fact if not the billions the US pay the egiptian government to bribe them they would be at war with israel in this moment the question is for how long this strategy can work ? .....

Israel’s society and military is simply far more powerful than Gaza, Egypt, or whatever Syria is now. Given a war, Israel will win.Thomas_muntzer wrote: ↑Tue Mar 18, 2025 6:11 pmBecause when your grandma die in a bombardment and your little brother get's amputated for an israeli bombardment you get radicalized ... No, they won't. Because they aren't fighting a conventional army. They are fighting their own population, or the population of lands they are making claim to. Who will basically never go away unless Israel commits to actual total genocide.JohnH wrote: ↑Tue Mar 18, 2025 7:46 pmIsrael’s society and military is simply far more powerful than Gaza, Egypt, or whatever Syria is now. The best they can accomplish is some temporary security through brutal repression. And it will only be temporary. Eventually the light-speed technological advancements in drone warfare we see in Ukraine will filter down to Israel and the occupied territories. And we will start seeing things like high explosive drones flying into the doors and windows of settler schools and synagogues controlled from 40 miles away. And then what? Are settlers going to live their entire lives 24/7 in underground silos and concrete bunkers? Israel is never going to achieve a peaceful society through military victory alone.

And then they'll have the political and popular support to completely crush the enemy, which is how wars work.Ken wrote: ↑Wed Mar 19, 2025 12:33 amNo, they won't. I suspect they are even stronger than when the "7 Days War" was fought. Because of the Abraham Accords, there are some Middle East countries that might even turn their heads while Israel defended itself once again.

Re: War in Gaza
It's been obvious for a while this whole conflict can end if they'll just.. release the hostages. It's been a year and a half and they have barely released any. Basically a few got releases when Trump negotiated a ceasefire deal, which Hamas kept trying to break. Once they realized the Israelis weren't going to hold the ceasefire if Hamas didn't, Hamas grudgingly let a few hostages go - or, more accurately, releases the identifiable remains of a few dead bodies of the hostages.
It is ridiculous how many people keep defending Hamas. A priority for the Trump administration needs to be getting every Hamas and Hezbollah sympathizer, agent, and terrorist out of our country. There have been far too many let in who are the ones behind all these protests.

https://www.jpost.com/israel-news/article-848143Palestinian dissident abducted, tortured, and killed by Hamas in Gaza
Hamas loyalists claimed that Odai al-Rabei's alleged participation in anti-Hamas protests meant he was a "traitor."
I'm guessing this was done in an attempt to dissuade further protesting.
