They are proposing actual cuts. Such as raising the retirement age. Which is nothing but a cut.
They have been raising the retirement age for the past 10+ years through Democrat and Republican Admins.

The gradual increases in social security retirement age from 65 to 67 were signed into law by Ronald Reagan in 1983. The 1983 social security amendments were passed by a Republican Senate and Democratic House and signed into law by a Republican president. So they were bipartisan or they would not have happened. But that was the last time that the formula and retirement age was tampered with. Everything that has happened since with the social security retirement age is a result of the formula set out in those 1983 amendments passed 41 years ago. Which didn't just raise the retirement age. They also raised the tax rate and income limits and made various other changes to make the program more fiscally sound such as making benefits themselves subject to taxation.

Republicans today aren't talking about any Ronald Reagan style balanced bipartisan social security reform effort. They are only talking about cutting benefits and doing so in a strictly partisan party-line fashion.

We will see if Elon and his DOGE suggest any cuts to social security. But they aren't the only game in town and not even the most important one. They are mostly for show. The House and Senate budget committees and the White House Budget Office are where the real power lies and where the real decisions get made.

Is this the perspective of the New Testament. Is this reflective of Jesus' teaching and example.
In an indirect way. We each are responsible for our own salvation. Trusting the church will not get you salvation. Each individual having a personal connection to Christ will. Corporate salvation is not in the NT. Why would we look to government being our salvation?
You lost me there. I'm not sure how looking to government for salvation relates to your views on individual property ownership and taxation.

If the mission goes ahead on Friday, Wilmore and Williams could depart the ISS by March 19, according to NASA.

i don’t complain about delays in air travel.
Whatever is needed for SAFE travel is more important than delays.

Which of the following reflect Christian values or Mennonite values? Which of the following are trustworthy sources of truth?

1. Elon Musk
2. Twitter
3. Babylon Bee

Are they worthy of hero worship here?

1. Are we discussing the topic? Good.
2. Are we going around and around in a fight? Let's stop doing that.
3. Is there some serious wrongdoing or relational injury? Let's address that, probably not in public and certainly not for show.

There are plenty of Elon Musk fanboys out there who literally do worship him. The internet is full of them.
