Measles is not a fatal disease.
Before the advent of measles vaccines in the US about 500 children died each year of the disease and many many thousands more suffered life-long injury including permanent brain damage, deafness, or blindness. In fact, measles was one of the leading causes of blindness before the invention of the vaccine.

Re: Mennonite Measles in Texas
Are you suggesting we shouldn't do what God told us to do? what do you want someone to do? there is no recommended treatment for measles outside of Vit A and if the doctor says they are dying... what are you expecting someone to do?Southerner wrote: ↑Tue Mar 04, 2025 10:48 amFear mongering aside, what are you going to do? Do you think God intends for us to protect the children under our care? Is not keeping them safe from deadly infectious diseases in the first place part of that obligation?Soloist wrote: ↑Tue Mar 04, 2025 1:06 pmAre you suggesting we shouldn't do what God told us to do? what do you want someone to do? there is no recommended treatment for measles outside of Vit A and if the doctor says they are dying... what are you expecting someone to do?Southerner wrote: ↑Tue Mar 04, 2025 10:48 amFear mongering aside, what are you going to do? Do you think God intends us to sin while protecting them? we could just as easily be talking nonresistance here. You know my belief on it already.

I respect people's convictions against refraining. I'm also pro-life which for me includes providing medical care for my children. It's a subject that I have discussed w my parents and it's a Catch 22.

So vaccination spiked deaths from 500 a year to 107500? That’s quite a jump.Ken wrote: ↑Tue Mar 04, 2025 10:57 amAccording to the WHO, An estimated 107 500 people died from measles in 2023 – mostly unvaccinated children under the age of five years.JohnH wrote: ↑Tue Mar 04, 2025 10:38 amMore fearmongering.Southerner wrote: ↑Tue Mar 04, 2025 10:25 am So it's a hypothetical but your unvaccinated children end up sick and the doc tells you they have measles and they are dying, what are you going to do?

I also drive places even though car accidents are a leading cause of death for kids. We pray, we wear seat belts. And we also accept that sometimes one of us will die.Southerner wrote: ↑Tue Mar 04, 2025 10:48 amFear mongering aside, what are you going to do? America is 5% of the world’s population. You’re saying that vaccination caused the measles death rate to go up 215 times?Ken wrote: ↑Tue Mar 04, 2025 2:14 pmYou do realize that the US is just one country out of 195 don't you?JohnH wrote: ↑Tue Mar 04, 2025 2:11 pmSo vaccination spiked deaths from 500 a year to 107500?
