By that standard, I'm not yet convinced that MN as a whole is serious about Christianity being more important than political messaging. And I think it would be helpful for us to reflect on it.

Why is it important to comment on what they are feeding us? Because of this: "If you say it long enough, hard enough, often enough, people will start to believe it." The constant stream of that makes it look like that's what is most important, even if much of it is not even true. And when there is so much of that on MN, I think we need to reevaluate it from a truth perspective and from a Christian perspective.

1. Are we discussing the topic? Good.
2. Are we going around and around in a fight? Let's stop doing that.
3. Is there some serious wrongdoing or relational injury? Let's address that, probably not in public and certainly not for show.

I have long viewed MN as not being primarily about Christianity but rather a place to discuss all sorts of different topics.

All of what you say here is what you assume to be true about others. When there is a constant whining (getting back to the thread topic :)) about what I, and I think others, on MN believe are not true assumptions, followed by a constant push to accept the real truth about what is going on in the political realm, this approach in and of itself, mirrors quite nicely, the approach used in politics. I see it all the time in the wide variety of news sources I read on a daily basis.

When I grew up this f-word was considered as indecent as the other 4-letter one.

Could go in that thread about what swear words Baptists do or don’t use…

Must be a regional or cultural thing. Fart is a harmless word in my culture. Do you have anything to contribute to the thread topic or are you just wanting to distract from the topic with grumbling?

It might be an interesting topic for some. I don't have any interest in starting a big business. Go ahead.

Baptist families I’ve known (from TN no less) wouldn’t let their kids say that. We don’t say it in our house either.

We just discussed that word at the dinner table last night. Talked about if it should be used or not, and alternatives. My wife’s family was not allowed to say it. We were.
