1. There are polio vaccines that are not derived from human cells.
2. These are highly effective for presenting polio.
3. They are also safe.
4. I'm a little surprised that this is controversial. Why is it?
Anyone want to enlighten me?
This sounds like a snarky tone, as if you think the things above are gospel truth and are waiting to correct someone who disagrees. Maybe I have mis understood your intent?
perhaps nobody wants to "enlighten" you, I sure don't, it just seems like getting into a fruitless argument
I also want to avoid fruitless arguments. That's not what this thread is for. And I wasn't being snarky when I wrote that. This is the kind of expression I write at work when I invite others to tell me where I may have gotten something wrong.
My intent is simple: If there is a fact-based reason to believe that polio vaccines are unsafe, ineffective, or only available in versions that are derived from human fetal cells, I would like to know what it is. If it's just a feeling you have, that's fine too, go ahead and share it, non-scientific reasons are also OK, as long as they don't masquerade as something else.

1. Are we discussing the topic? Good.
2. Are we going around and around in a fight? Let's stop doing that.
3. Is there some serious wrongdoing or relational injury? Let's address that, probably not in public and certainly not for show.

What is the point of this thread?
You already know the answers to your questions. The polio vaccine is safe and effective and has saved millions of people from contracting polio over the years. There are no fact-based or scientific-based reasons to believe otherwise.
My mother who is a retired nurse worked in a polio ward during her nursing training in Pittsburgh in the 1950s. She would be shocked and horrified to think there is even a discussion about bringing back polio. Because without the vaccine, that is what we would actually be doing. Bringing back polio.

If nobody disagrees, there is no reason to continue.
If someone has good reason to disagree, I would like to know what it is.
