So far, nobody I know with back pain has dealt with by planning a murder and then dashing away on a bicycle.

I don’t think any of us are in a position to diagnose Luigi Mangione’s back pain.

I am in a position to say it wasn’t a reason to assassinate someone.

Absolutely. I agree with you. It wasn’t reasonable. Temp is questioning whether he had back pain. I don’t think any of us can do that.

i have the freedom to question MULTIPLE REPORTS that describe Luigi’s back pain+surgery as SEVERE and DEBILITATING, while publishing videos and pictures of Luigi bicycling, walking, murdering with a heavy gun, getting in+out of police cars, etc.,
without so much as a wince.

If i’m out of line, i depend on admin+mods to let me know. they’re good at it.

i’m not guessing at a diagnosis, in my view, that’s not necessary. XRays have been published. they’re specific.
the video above, P.5, on back pain was meant to be an example, for general reference.

SEVERE and DEBILITATING pain are used in medicine, differentiating beyond mild or moderate pain. chronic or not.

Mayo Clinic / The Dreaded Pain Scale
https://connect.mayoclinic.org/blog/adu ... pointment/
[Severe] Pain = 7-10 (disabling or unable to carry out normal daily activities)
Ranges from "impacts your social relationships, or sleep" to "being bedridden or even delirious."

Perhaps multiple reports have been wrong to share this info about Luigi.
It’s public information. i’m flabbergasted to read this while seeing ZERO indication of any pain in videos/pictures.

i believe my questions are fair. i’m not diagnosing, i 100% agree that would be wrong. not a temptation.

Luigi feels entitled to murder in cold blood, ambush+execute, in the man’s back, no remorse.
(As reported) he’s a hero in his own eyes.

Luigi has a global fan club and public funding accounts, heading upwards of $100,000.

i have no remorse questioning various reports wrt Luigi’s reported medical condition. full stop.

I think the observations about back pain and activity are relevant. This guy seems way too active to be in that much pain. I’ve got family members who still suffered pain after back surgery and none of them can do even a fraction of what this guy is doing physically. My cynical side noticed that the back pain story started getting pushed after his wealthy family brought in the expensive attorneys.

This is going to be a long time playing out. I’ll bring extra popcorn.

I find it interesting who deserves investigation of motive and who does not. My thinking about this started years ago after the Columbine school shooting where the personal histories of the perpetrators seemed to take on significance in the public mind. Some law breakers are considered worthy of this investigation of interior motive and some are not, even within the same event. Police caught on camera abusing people are at times portrayed as vulnerable and fearful while the actual victims are flat characters defined only by their actions (drug addicts, prostitutes, career criminals). Why is the public fascinated with the interior motivations of the Kyle Writtenhouse but not the people who confronted him and were killed.

If Mr. Thompson were killed by a black, inner city drug addict, how much ink would be devoted to the analysis of motive, his highschool experience, family finances, medical history, ECT... Some people are considered complex, rounded characters with emotions and motivations and others are criminals.

almost like some tv show police procedural, come to real life. with a dramatic story of a young man with dashing looks, flirting with a hotel check in girl. a manhunt that ends up at a mcdonald's. a manifesto. endless speculation.

seems like a distraction
never underestimate the hedonistic fascination with a good money-sex-violence cocktail in U.S. airwaves.
in this case, i’m wondering if throwbacks to the old Italian-Sicilian mafia stories will be resurrected? they’re not long-gone.

i agree, there LOTS going on in the world right now.
just trying to keep up with biden’s exit strategies is more than i can do.
covering for biden//the leftist cabal is a formal job of many. imho

bring extra-extra popcorn. more colorful Luigi-intrigue may be imminent.

(for me) the “severe back pain” factor appeared right away, which made me question videos. “severe” is a weighty word in medicine.
i saw these last night: there may be a paywall -

Luigi wrote about his various health problems on Reddit (no longer active).

“Murder Suspect Luigi Mangione Wrote About His Back Pain, IBS and Other Serious Health Issues on Reddit: ‘Devastating’ “
Mangione is charged with the murder of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson

Luigi wrote:
.. “It can be easy to get caught up in the plethora of horror stories on the internet.
When my spondy went bad on me last year (23M) it was completely devastating as a young athletic person," Mangione allegedly wrote in a post dated Aug. 3, 2023. "Spondy" is shorthand for spondylolisthesis, a rare back condition where the vertebrae in the spine slip out of place.

However, he appeared to have undergone a successful surgery and recovery, even sharing his experience on an "Athletic Success Stories" thread.
^^There’s a bit more, but this explains why his videos/pictures do not reflect severe pain. Or any pain.

Wow.
A poll found 41 percent of adults under 30 consider the killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson acceptable, more than the 40 percent in that demographic who consider it unacceptable.
