What do Anabaptists and Anglicans share in common?

Christianity can be taxonomically divided into six main groups: the Church of the East, Oriental Orthodoxy, Eastern Orthodoxy, Roman Catholicism, Protestantism, and Restorationism. Protestantism includes many groups which do not share any ecclesiastical governance and have widely diverging beliefs and practices. Major Protestant branches include Adventism, Anabaptism, Anglicanism, Baptists, Lutheranism, Methodism, Moravianism, Quakerism, Pentecostalism, Plymouth Brethren, Reformed Christianity, and Waldensianism.

A high view of the scripture. (As you probably know there is a contingent of CA folks who find the Anglican vision very compelling)

The "An..." at the beginning of the names.... ;)

(Oh, and the 's' at the end.)

In the grand scheme of things, they share in common vastly more things than they differ on. Such that it is probably more useful to identify points of difference rather than points of similarity.

This is the sort of exercise that I would suggest lends itself to the construction of a Venn diagram to compare and contrast.

Specific points of doctrine aside, I would suggest that the biggest difference between Anglicans and Anabaptists is that Anglicans have generally been the church of the establishment, especially in the Anglo-Saxon world. Whereas Anabaptists have always been an anti-establishment church from the Reformation onwards. Most differences in style, culture, and doctrine between Anglicans and Anabaptists probably arise from that fundamental difference.

I should clarify that the similarities should be things that both emphasize, that Anabaptists do not share with most other faith traditions.

Both envision themselves between Catholic and Protest traditions.

Do Anabaptists really consider themselves BETWEEN Catholic and Protestant traditions?

As opposed to a different and more radical branch of the reformation from traditional Protestantism.

They both meet on Sundays.
I know the Anglicans have prayerbooks. Do Anabaptists?

One of the best-kept publishing secrets is the existence of a small tome, Die ernsthafte Christenpflicht. It has gone through 87 known editions or reprints since the first known edition in 1708. This stands as the Amish and Mennonite book in North America with the most (64) editions or reprints.

Now for the first time, all the prayers of the current edition of Christenpflicht have been translated by Leonard Gross and are available in English—including the seven prayers appended in the 1992 edition from the first (1846) Canadian edition.

Of course, the existence of this prayer book does not necessarily imply that it is widely used.
