Dear brothers and sisters!
Our brother Pavel Korobko has been to the recruitment office more than once by summons. Brother Pavel presented documents which testified about his religious convictions and requested that they would allow him to fulfill his civic duty to the government by way of exchanging military service for non-military service, that is, alternative service in agreement with article 35 of the Constitution of Ukraine. It is worth noting that brother Pavel has already been through alternative service during the years of 2017-2019 which serves as an additional argument besides the religious convictions of our fellow believer.
Since brother Pavel has refused to sign the military summons the representatives of the recruitment office have sent his documents for opening a criminal case. At this level the case of brother Pavel Korobko is located at the district inspector for evaluation.
On 7/29/2024 brother Pavel was called to the district inspector for questioning where he again testified about his religious convictions. The inspector may pass the case onto the prosecutor and then to the judge.
Therefore, we ask that you pray for brother Pavel and also, call the district inspector and request that brother Pavel be given the opportunity for alternative service. We ask that you talk with the representatives of the government with respect and explain that in agreement with his religious convictions our fellow believer cannot bear arms and fulfill military service.
