Refugees, Migrants, International Scholars, and other Immigrants

Post by Ernie »

This is a thread for discussing Refugees, Migrants, International Scholars, and other Immigrants.

It is a place for discussing immigration statistics and a place for discussing ways this door of opportunity can be used to advance the kingdom of God.

[This is NOT a thread to discuss one's objections to immigration or the way it is being handled by politicians. There are many other threads for this purpose.

Of note:
A person may personally object to the way immigration is being handled, yet seize the opportunity to leverage the situation for the kingdom of God.

Please do not engage in promoting left wing/right wing ideology or critiquing the actions or viewpoints of a particular political party or political leaning in this thread.

Please keep partisan comments/debates out of this thread - avoid comments that reflect negatively on either right-leaning or left leaning political persuasions or characters.

Please keep this thread focused on the topic.

Some of us are planning a Migrant and Immigrant Forum in Pittsburgh on March 11 (evening) and March 12 (forenoon) for the purpose of learning how we can maximize the current situation by being the hands and feet of Jesus to the strangers and foreigners among us. This will be held just prior to REACH. More details later.

This article says 29 million immigrants have entered Europe the last decade.

I can't find this same statistic for the US and for Canada. Can anybody point me in the right direction?
