Last Friday, I decided to quit work. They asked for a 2 week notice. I agreed to one. I will wrap things up this Friday. I announced at the Staff meeting today that I was leaving. I was surprised I did not get a standing ovation.

What made you decide to quit? Is this retirement, or are you planning to find something else?

1. Are we discussing the topic? Good.
2. Are we going around and around in a fight? Let's stop doing that.
3. Is there some serious wrongdoing or relational injury? Let's address that, probably not in public and certainly not for show.

They needed to trim some workforce. I was going to leave in a month or two when I get my old house sold. Working is getting in the way of me getting the old house on the market where I will make enough to fully retire and be totally debt free. By leaving now, this keeps someone else employed since I was going to quit soon anyway.
Working on 2 homes and working close to full time at my age just is stupid. Yes, I am stupid.

As freezing weather has just started, Monday and Tuesday we harvested the sweet potatoes and winter squash. We gathered 24 banana boxes of sweet potatoes and over a hundred boxes of winter squash. The average box weighs about 45 pounds, so we got fatigued. After curing, most of this will go to the food bank. We'll sell a bit at market and keep some for ourselves.
Today, after working and making a trip to the old house for a few things, my 16 year old needed help wiring his lights on the old boat and trailer some guy gave him. We had to put tires on the rims while on the trailer the bolts were so rusted in just to get it home. More junk, but he thinks he has something great.

memories ..
our son bought his first car, on his own, at age 14. o.my.
you might imagine. it had to be towed in. eventually, towed out.
i’ll leave it at that.
in time, he eventually worked for Boeing (on 787s) .. now, it appears he’s headed for flight school.
he’s approved, working on logistics. i hope he goes through with it. (because it’s what he’s wanted) .. since high school.
from rusty bolts, bigger dreams grow.
what is life without dreams?

i’m perfectly comfortable with an older, wiser, more docile Trump.
